Re: Audio interface sounds different to computer: Help please

If by tech specs you mean buffer size/sample rate, then they are different. My buffer size for the Fast Track Pro is 1024, and the buffer size for my computer sound card is 4096 (if I bring it down to 1024 I get crackles). However the sample rate for both is 44.1. So should I match my audio interfac...

Audio interface sounds different to computer: Help please

Hi guys, I finished my track listening to it through my M-audio fast track pro. I used Ozone to get it sounding clearer, louder, and it was sounding great. But now I'm listening to it through my normal computer sound card, and it sounds quieter, less clear, just worse in general. I don't know what t...

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton

Thanks guys, will definitely hit up that link. That's 10 hrs I quite desperately need to spend learning this stuff. Just one more question though. Let's say I actually use Ozone to master my track...if I was to then think to myself- 'Hmm, this song could really use some strings', how big an issue is...

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton

Ah right I see. But is it common practice to duplicate a guitar track for instance, and pan one track 25L and one track 25R? Because it seems odd to me to simply pan a track to the left for example without balancing it out? Or is this normal?

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton

Also, I understand the concept of placing instruments left and right (simply pan them hard left/right), but what about front and back?

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton

These are such excellent explanations. Thank you all. A basic concept I dont understand is, would it not sound odd if my guitar track was panned all the way to the left for instance? Or am I misunderstanding? Should the guitar track be duplicated, with one guitar track panned to the left and the oth...

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton

Ahhh thanks guys. 1) What about panning though? Can that be left till the end (ie part of the mastering process)? Or should I be panning things like percussion during the mixing process itself? From what I've learnt so far, panning is just to give your music a spacious feel right? 2) Are there any g...

Clipping

Hi guys,

My master track is clipping at about 3db. Would it be best to turn EVERY track in the mix down together so that it isn't clipping anymore? Would this be affecting the mix in some negative way?

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton

Thank you. In the individual tracks, speaking in terms of sound clarity, what are the Ableton plug ins that I should use? I'm becoming more familiar with the spectrum analyser and EQ Eight plug ins. In the context of sound clarity, quality, and loudness, what other plug ins should I teach myself how...

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton

Hey thanks for your reply.

What I was wondering was if these Izotope Ozone functions could successfully replace and remove the need for using Ableton's in-built EQ plug ins and compressor plug ins?

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton

Also things like compressors to try and get things louder? Should I still do this?

Izotope Ozone in Ableton

Hey guys, Rookie question unfortunately, sorry in advance. I recently purchase Izotope Ozone, with the hope that it will give me a more professional sound. Before I started learning how to use it, I just had a couple of quick questions. 1) During the process of mixing, should I still do things such ...

Also this problem seems to get worse the as I progress through an Ableton session, even if I haven't added much
