Wonder how it would suit a guitar synthesist?

I'm no keyboardist, but I like toying with my Roland GR-33 and I'm thinking this might be a cool external sounds module for that. I love to program synths and cook up patches, and that's why this looks interesting to me. The fact that you like the sounds, esp. the filters, makes it even more interes...

i think it's possbile to created split zones on the keyboard. look at some of the combinator patches. lots of the performance patches are splitted in bass/lead for example I think northern's suggestion might be the simplest, least trouble-free way to set up a split that loads with your Reason song ...

Trying to get started looping; timing issues

I'm trying to get Ableton Live to loop, live, hands-free, and I've got to the point where I just can't figure out how to get the loops to restart on time [I think -- not sure that's the prob, cuz I'm so new to Ableton Live]. I'm playing guitar into it right now, trying to lay down a bass line, say, ...

Glad to see some tips on what to search for. I've been beating my brains out the past few days trying to figure out how to get Live to loop seamless for me. I should probably lay off the experiments for a few weeks and just read up on the forums and the web. I'm frustrated that I can't get loops to ...

oh yeh, p, we definitely want to be able to run some non-sync'd loops, too, totally hands free.

mariner, I like the way you're thinking, but if I have to touch the mouse or keyboard, it's no good. There's gotta be a way to adjust that loop brace with MIDI commands, so I can do it with my feet, or I'd have no use for it.

Avi, I'm with ya, buddy. Put me down for those features, too. Like the name "triggle", btw.

Every one of those features is something I want, and was hoping Live had already when I bought it.

I don't know wireless stuff, but is this a clue?

"he MidAir 25 ships with the MidAir receiver—a 2.4GHz wireless interface..." Does that "2.4GHz" imply a certain technology or protocol, like Bluetooth or something?

Not that you need to convert, but if you feel that burning urge .... If you've got OSX, you already have a batch converter: iTunes. It'll convert AIFF to/from WAV. Go to the iTunes prefs, Advanced, Importing. Pick your format. Make a playlist, put the files you want to convert in it, select 'em all,...

Not sure if I can reproduce it, but it happened to me once. I chalked it up to my not knowing Ableton Live well yet, figuring I must have enabled something I shouldn't have.

I'd like to see this: when I use the mouse on my Graphire tablet, the knobs act just like they do when I use a normal mouse. That'd be a great start. As it is, I go to the trackpad in Ableton Live because the Graphire's mouse makes the knobs go crazy.

Thanks for that. I was thinking I could use one controller for up to 127 different Ableton Live commands, but I guess not. I was shy about using note numbers because I didn't want to accidentally trigger things if I played an instrument. I use a guitar synth, and there's just no telling what MIDI no...

Hmm, well, still don't see why it's not working

OK, thanks, that makes sense, but the part that doesn't make sense: When I step on 2 different footswitches, Ableton Live sees the same input coming in and asks me if I want to reassign that MIDI message. In other words, the only reason I brought this up is that Ableton Live is treating both footswi...

midiStroke is what you need for OSX, I think

If you're looking for something like MIDI Translator for OSX, then http://www.charlie-roberts.com/midiStroke/ is what you need for OSX, I think. I haven't got started with it because I have to figure out what to type into its very tiny number boxes. Once I figure out what my FCB is really sending, I...
