I was right -- musolomo IS fun. It is to setting up a sampler what the "MIDI learn" feature is to setting up MIDI control in Reason [or Ableton Live]. Genius! Now I'm spoiled and I want all my samplers to have that easy setup feature.

Live doesn't see diff values for same CC?

Here's my prob: I am programming the FCB to send various messages to Ableton Live. Live *seemed* like a good 'midi meter' because I can quickly see what FCB is sending when I go into MIDI Map mode. I go to that mode, choose a Live button onscreen, and press an FCB footswitch. Live shows me what it s...

BTW, Oortha, you didn't find a driver for OSX because you don't need one. I remember seeing that somewhere in the docs or on the website. This device is class compliant and does not require driver support for OSX.

Nice links. That group links to a tutorial on programming the TF using the Enigma software. Here's the quote that boils down the answer to Oortha's Q: "This one gets everyone, and it's underdocumented (like almost everything in this tutorial). When you hit the Send Changes in the Device Bank to the ...

Wow, that musolomo looks like fun. Ever seen Lomo photography? Apparently that's what inspired the creators. Anyway, I'm downloading that now, hoping to try it in the next few days. Thanks for bringing that up!

Zsazsa's right: upload changes, then ....

.... choose some other preset, just to stir up the TF's memory. I think of it as poking it to wake it up. When you again select the preset you wanted to use, it'll have the changed settings you uploaded.

Beautiful, man, just beautiful.

I'm just sitting here on the back porch on a cool summer day in Georgia, listening to your song and totally digging it. Perfect time & place for it, too. Frickin' awesome, dude. :)

Loving the discussion of gated effects, too. Thanks for the idea.

Maybe your pad's sending a Note OFF when you release the pad

You probably need to get the Enigma software editor for the TF, and check the assignments on the drum pads you're tapping, because I think they send a Note ON when you touch 'em and a Note OFF when you release 'em. That's what's happening to you, I think. Worth looking at that Enigma software anyway...

Using OSX's Keyboard shortcuts? Back 'em up now & then.

I think OSX still stores your keyboard shortcuts in "com.apple.universalaccess.plist", which I think you'll find somewhere in your user account's Library folder. If you're relying on them for performance, make a copy of this file every time you change some shortcut in the Keyboard & Mouse Preference...

I've only used Live Lite so far, but I'm thinking seriously of getting Live mainly to do live loop-based music, all loops built on the fly. Would it be possible for you to assign a MIDI controller to the recording quantize function you mentioned, like, say, a fader or knob on an M-Audio Trigger Fing...
