Re: mac osx lion and its effects on LIVE

If Resume, Auto-Save and Version work together flawlessly with Live, we would never lose our undo history. Or any work for that matter. Probably wouldn't even need Undo history recall depending on how well and fast the Version feature works. Wow, it could happen. But we will need gobobytes more sto...

Re: Setting up iPad core midi

I just bought touchAble this weekend, and used it on the home WiFi net. Awesome, just awesome. I was up way too late Saturday night/Sunday morning, just playing with it.

Re: Remebering MIDI mappings

I think 2 ideas might help here: 1. MIDI mappings in Ableton Live are stored in each Live Set. So if you set up some mappings you like, save that set, and use it as a starting point. 2. "how I change channels through using the buttons on the keyboard rather than selecting them with the mouse" Look u...

All good ideas. Transport looks cool, as does the same company's AlphaTrack. Thanks!

Re: Midi Mapping items for the selected track

Good question. I just came here looking for exactly that: a way to map a MIDI fader so that it adjusts whichever track happens to be selected at this moment. If I select a different track, the same fader should adjust that track's volume, instead. That would be cool. Dunno a way to do it, though.

In praise of "Show in Finder"

I write in praise of "Show in Finder" (I think, in Windows, it'd be "Show in Explorer?). It's really useful, and it's got me going to Ableton Live almost exclusively now, leaving Reason unused on the disk because it's just not as convenient. With Live, I can work with presets, saved synth patches, e...

Wow, that was very cool. I got sidetracked, and didn't get my work done, but, hey, I learned something very cool. Thanks again.

Re: Type length of scene in scene name for it to do so?

Wow, I was just searching the web to find out if Live could do this. Would love to have that. Wouldn't mind if we had to use a special syntax in the scene name, something like:

Re: Ableton Guitarists

... do you use a gk-3 how well does it work? i've heard some people complain about the pickups. I have a GK-2A on my all-maple, totally awesome cheapskate Steinberger Spirit GT-Pro, and it's pretty damn good. No complaints here. Well, I wish the polepieces lined up with the narrow string spacing a ...

Re: Ableton Guitarists

Is there a way to midi map one individual pedal to send a bank down type signal to fire the next scene, or will it be individual keys for each scene? This must be down via pedal so I hope it can be bank down scene? Yes. As kanuck replied, it's possible to map a button to fire a scene, and to move u...
