Re: Must have Mac programs?

On a slightly different note, the first thing I do with a new Mac is: Put the God damn brightness down - agreed I have mine at the lowest setting usually as well, that's why there's buttons for it, simple Turn off genie window effect You mean expose? That shit comes in handy when you're working acr...

Re: Must have Mac programs?

Cheers Trypset. I have to say I still have problems with Soundflower, but have never found anything to replace it. Sometimes I get a horrible buzzing noise from it. I only ever use it do do screen recordings. Hey funken, did you try out jack osx? Mentioned it in my post as an alternative to soundfl...

Re: Famous People That Use Ableton SHARE

Gobbler for a specific music projects solution! Or Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.com... Gobbler looks really interesting. I use dropbox but... the backup would be nice. Any perceived dangers of all these cloud services springing up? Dropbox is pretty popular now, and popularity gives a business more s...

Re: Presonus Studio One v2 - 50% Off - Today only

I jumped ship and bought Studio One 2 Producer. Honestly - if the update to suite + 9 had stayed 180, I wouldnt have. But €100 for a fully functional DAW is just too hard to pass up. I mean - 9 looks nice, but thinking its not worth 120 for an upgrade - there really isnt a standout editing feature ...

Re: Apple forgets about musicians

I always thought the "pro" use was one of Apples initial selling points. Whenever you saw a Mac on tv, it was usually in the creative industries. Im sure that watermark had a big impact on apples reputation and one of the reasons for its success. I bought a mbp because musicians trusted using it liv...

Re: Saffire PRO 24 doesn't produce sound after wake on MBP?

To everybody with a Saffire Pro, Can you guys confirm for me whether theres a seriously annoying issue with changing buffer rates in Live? If working on a quite cpu intensive set, if I change sample rate (to record instead of mix/vise versa) the cpu can increase by 50% becoming almost unusable EVEN ...

Re: Saffire PRO 24 doesn't produce sound after wake on MBP?

I read the focusrite article before. I did a search on google for firewire plug and play risks, and focusrite seemed to be the only site that mentioned it. To be honest, I power mine up/plug it in in a plug and play way and dont really listen to the advice. The convenience and speed of plug and play...

Re: Saffire PRO 24 doesn't produce sound after wake on MBP?

I dont know if this is the same issue as mine - but, if youve ableton on throughout the sleep/start cycle, it just doesnt take kindly to removing the saffire. It doesnt pick it up if its late connecting, and if disconnected it wont reconnect till Live is restart. Next time - with your no sound issue...

Re: Four Tet deconstruction thread

Correct me if Im wrong, but by deconstruct, you mean musically... separate? Try to describe the separate parts or workflow so you can create youre own? Im kind of at the same stage myself with electronic percussion - its usually just this swirling mass of sound, and I still find it really hard to di...
