imo: it doesn't take much to look someone in the eye and say hows it going. then smile, make your excuses and go deal with the more important stuff. their customers are the lifeblood of their business. if the everyday users didn't buy Ableton Live, then there wouldn't BE an Ableton live, and little ...

HELLO. My name is...

it just occurred to me at 3am, slaving over a set, accompanied by a cup of tea, that it might be bad forum etiquette to just show up, make a few know-it-all posts and plunder information from any and everyone, without at least saying hello and letting the regulars know who I am. So. I am Jon. I've b...

hah yeah thanks. all I needed to do was drag the end warp marker earlier in time by one sample and then all is ok. all the samples in the clips are exactly the right length anyway, they're bounces from Logic. so you'd think it'd be a doddle to whack them in and say "these are 32 bars long" seems lik...

problem warping a 32 bar clip

I'm tearing my hair out over this. I have a 32 bar bass sample in my set, but the clip's sample end setting will NOT allow me to set the end point to 33.1.1. Only 32.4.4 - and as a result I can't set the loop length to 32, only 31.3.3 I've taken a screenshot, and tried to include it in this post, bu...

I rewire Live into Logic (7 at the moment, about to upgrade)

You can't beat Logic for midi programming and automation (imo) and obviously there are a lot of excellent plugin synths and effects (and of course sidechain compression) at your fingertips.

thanks andy, very useful. and yeah I had considered doing it all in audio but then it reduces the amount you can 'perform' really and then you just end up firing scenes and clips... danger of not being busy enough although I'm sure you might say differently (?) excuse the ignorance but what are rack...

i just don't really care if companies can advertise to me more effectively. they're only going to get my money if I actually want what they're selling in the first place.

I'm not sure it's that simple. It's... complicated; relating to the entire direction of society. well yeah point taken I see what you mean. but this has been going on for a long time before Facebook or even the internet began. Is the beef with a) the overbearing consumer-driven in your face adverti...

well I assume you mean the woap woap sound bass noise as opposed to the two or three other bass sounds going on in those tunes. anyway its all about mapping the lowpass filter of the synth to an envelope, so that when you trigger the note, the filter opens up, allowing the higher frequencies of the ...
