Re: Is there a way to not record MIDI CC changes in session mode

Alright, got it! It's the Overdubbing button that does it. When it's turned off I can keep the track armed, and playing so that MIDI CC values go to the VST, but they don't get recorded. I gues when I'm ready to start recording them I just turn that button back on.

Thanks guys!

Re: Is there a way to not record MIDI CC changes in session mode

Still no luck. When I turn monitoring on, the MIDI notes no longer get sent to the VST. When I turn off record enable on the track, none of the CC data makes it to the VST. Still in the same place I was.

Re: Is there a way to not record MIDI CC changes in session mode

I'm not in front of my studio computer so I can't check on this, but won't disarming the track stop sending MIDI CC to the VST, thus rendering the controller incapable of controlling that VST?

Is there a way to not record MIDI CC changes in session mode

I have not quite figured out how stop my Clips from recording every MIDI CC change I make when I'm tweaking something in Session mode. For example, I have the NI Kore 2 controller running in MIDI mode. I have got it hooked up with a template to control the parameters of Massive. I'll program a bassl...

Re: Anyone have the Dance Music Manual by Rick Snowman?

I'm reading Snoman's book right now. I find it informative. I find it a bit dated, but there is definitely some good insight in there. I find that a lot of the info is elsewhere online, but it's nice to have it all in one spot to refer back to when I forget something. I don't regret buying it, or re...

Re: DARK music

Wow guys, these are great tips. I'm also a big "dark" music fan, and these theory points are great hints in the right direction.
