Re: PS3 vs Xbox 360 for meeee....
I vote XBox 360. I used to work developing games and 360 was far easier to work on than PS3. This generally means you'll get the sweet games earlier on 360 and there are more cool downloadables if you're into that sorta thing. (Castle Crashers FTW!) Also in zombie terms Dead Rising 2 is on it's way....

Re: who else is really excited about the movie '9' ?
It's based off a short film. The guy who made the original did the 3d Modelling/Animation course I'm doing right now. Took him 7 years to make the short.

Re: i just got picked up as a producer, help with studio!!!
I'll just chuck into the mix that it might be worth grabbing a few of the larger sample packs out there. While it might be great to think you'll create an interesting and orginal piece of music for every situation the time will come when they just want something yesterday. And that something might b...

Re: name this movie, it's a fantasy one from the 80's I think
Ya that much is clear. But I thought people had worked out what exactly happened to mess everything up and there were like flow charts of the timelines on-line and stuff. Ah gotcha, yeah I've never tried to figure out EXACTLY what happens near the end. More just took it all as completely breaking d...

Re: How many midi controllers do you have?
I've recently just gone back to using the bare basics due to room space mostly. In use: Access Virus TI (use as synth and midi controller) APC40 is on the way to cover the rest of my main studio and live needs. Not really in use: XSession Pro (have used in past but prob will sell) Oxygen 8 (usually ...

While incomplete, probably the most mind-bending time travel movie made. No way is that movie incomplete! It's perfect how it is. The last 10 or 20 minutes are genius. :) For the other person that mentioned it, you're not really meant to 'get it'. The basic idea is that time travel raises a tonne o...

@mike_o
Ahh true, I stand corrected. I wasn't quite sure enough to state 'no CGI at all'.
Could you imagine the scene with the queen done nowadays? They'd totally just do it all in CGI...

Re: APC GO OUT AND BUY ONE NOW....APC questions
Ok I've ordered this MPC that everyone has been going on about. They didn't have a 40 version so I got a 500, that's gotta be way better though right? Has anyone got a torrents for Live 5? I didn't know you needed it and bought 8.

Anybody wish that their APC40 wasn't in some container ship floating in the Pacific for the next month? I wanna start picking faults too!

On that tip I'm just gonna throw Labyrinth out there. Best part: "Come inside, meet the missus!" :D I agree totally with the CGI thing eh. I watched Aliens the other night, obviously some CGI but so many awesome things in that movie that were done 'the old way' and look AMAZING and more importantly,...

Re: My finall songs sound muddy and lack volume please help!!!!
Should also chuck in here that the key to using a limiter/master compression when you're starting out is to do what you think sounds good and then pull it back a bit. You almost always need less than what you think 'sounds good' when you're learning that stuff. (especially true if using an exciter o...

Re: whats everyone doing tonight?
I took the first track that I made that wasn't complete crap and started to fix/finish it. The production was terrible but there's a good song buried in there. Strange working on a song that's 6 or 7 years old though. (cheers Ableton for maintaining backwards compatibility btw :) ) (oh and I'm jealo...

Re: must be a better way
I suggest not just pulling all the plugs out of everything and dropping them on the floor when you're packing up. I have a set order of setting things up (as I'm sure you do) and I pack things up in the opposite order. Saves you from accidentally pulling on some plug that might still be plugged in. ...

WAY better than APC40. No annoying buttons, no blinding LED's, doesn't rely on some obscure audio software to run, contains at least 3 times more liquid....UKRuss wrote:How much is the 'v' it looks very cool, is it on pre-order? Is it an APC 40 killer?
