No Midi thru.
I'll eyeball a 2x2.
Anyone have any tips on a good all around midi keyboard?
Small size a plus.

Über Rookie question regarding keyboard controllers
So I'm about to jump into virtual instruments (up till now I've used Live (since v.2) as a multitrack only), and I'm wondering if I can use a midi synth/keyboard as a controller, or do I need to use something like an Axiom, SL compact or such. Is it a pisser to get Live 7 and say a CZ-101 to work to...

MicroKontrol
Is this a nice unit if all I want to do is VI's & Operator in Live? This is my first jump into this side of Live. Up till now I've used it as my DAW recorder. I have a Mackie MCU for the heavy lifting. The size & used price point are good for me, and I see that it's listed as Natively Suppor...

haa! I just hit the web with the EXACT same problem. Have an Audiofire2, want a new macbook, no firewire. It's pretty lame that they have dropped the firewire port from the macbook line. I bet we'll see a whole new crop of USB 2.0 interfaces now. I bet Apple will put Firewire ports back on in rev. ...

Ya APX has a 100 piece minimum to buy.
And as far as the Guitar Center scenario..... dude, tell me you were kidding.
Thanks though. I found one from Jameco:
For $33.50.... well see

Scroll Wheel for Track Fader Levels?
Is this possible somehow?
If I hover over the track level slider, is it possible to use the scroll wheel?
How about for pans?
I'm an a Mac if that helps.
Thanks!
Erik

That's a drag.
If it were me, I'd get a Expresscard Firewire card.
This would actually have the added benefit of being on a different bus that you HD and and external USB2 HD. About $40.00 (US)

Mackie MCU Power Supply
Of course I'm like an hour & a half out of warranty. I need a 7.5V, 4.5A Power Supply. The end connector is an 11mm long x 5mm thick hollow (female) type. Center is +. Mackie wants $95, plus another $15-$20 to ship it. It's made by APX, and their part # is SP36907. Any advice? Thanks a lot, Erik!

Do yourself a big favor, take a look at the Echo Audiofire Line.....
Rock solid. Many times better built than MOTU or M-Audio. Very very nice converters too.
No stooge advertising hype means fair prices too.
