Re: Limiter- Is it a Loudness maximizer? and a few other randoms

I have used Ozone, it's a great piece of software. I think its great bit of software for sticking some generic spit and polish over your mix exports when you dont have a clue what you are doing but just want it to fit in and make your soundcloud/mypsace or whatever upload sound ok next to other sim...

Re: Limiter- Is it a Loudness maximizer? and a few other randoms

and just one more side note that might help. Compressors/limiters are effected more by lower frequencies than higher frequencies. what does this mean? If the limiter is hitting your music too hard, try cutting out some of the lows. I mean sub lows, the lows you feel, rather than hear. What I do for ...

Re: Limiter- Is it a Loudness maximizer? and a few other randoms

Limiter - I know people use it to cut off anything above 0DB. But if you going above 0db in the first place arent you doin something wrong? ( clipping )?? Ive have noticed in cheaper programs like Grageband that it made my DJ set or production sound louder, or have read that it makes it Radio Ready...

and p.s. "radio ready" is another term for being squashed out of oblivion, most likely the least interesting piece of music you can hear.

Hey all, I'm currently finding out that using Maschine as a VST in Ableton is amazing. I was hoping that you guys could share your set-ups and share any cool ideas using the duo together!

Re: Apply FX to only a small section?

Have you tried automating it in the clip view? Go to clip view and automate compressor "device on" on only the parts you need it on

Re: Sennheiser headphones for a noisy room?

HD280's owned here; Can't here anything from the surrounding environment; TV, wife, kids. TV has to be on well loud to make me look up! Great! Bass is a little understated though, so need to allow for it... Comfy but look like 1970's rejects. Especially the silver ones I have! Make your ears sweat ...

Re: Drag & Drop method with maschine shortens sample

Hi. This is not a tip or a trick. Are you sure Live's tempo is not set to higher tempo which would explain why it's sped up. Also, make sure to read the Maschine manual and that loop optimize is checked in the preferences. Sorry for posting in the wrong section. The tempos are matched, I'll play ar...

Drag & Drop method with maschine shortens sample

Hey all. I'm working with Maschine and Ableton Live 8. When I drag and drop a drum pattern from Maschine to Ableton, The drum pattern is sped up in the clip view. Is there anyway I can drag and drop the sample so that when it launches in Ableton, It is in time?

thanks for all replies,
Tyler

Re: live switching between arrangement and session

this is something that I was thinking about when playing live, do my easy stuff with my APC40 and when it came to the stuff that is almost too intricate to do live, switch back to the Arrangement view and let it play out from there. I thought that it would be easy, but i guess i'm wrong. :(

Re: click/pop sound on scene launch

just had this problem, but was solved when a dude on here told me to not use the "complex pro" mode with time stretching. Try something simpler, like beats/transients, it solved it for me.
