Re: External Sync - Wobbly Tempo. . . ?!?!

the internal effects also have latency, e.g. the limiter (because of the look ahead), but they are very low. i had problems when we ran my machine as the slave as my notebook is a little slower than my bandmate's. when i used a lot of effects in the same channel, i could hear tracks running out of s...

Re: External Sync - Wobbly Tempo. . . ?!?!

unfortunately i haven't yet worked out how to get midi ox to run at any bpm other 120! i'm gonna be posting my questions about sorting this in the other thread. afaik there's no need. you can set the bpm on both slaves before you enable external sync. MTC just sends an tempo independent time code. ...

Re: Reverse Reverb

audio damage eos - it has a reverse preset, but that's done by using a longer pre-delay. sounds good though.

Re: Ableton Live alternative?

It's very unfortunate that there are no real alternative/competition products out there when it comes to non-linear work-flow. Because of that you either have to deal with/learn Live or use more traditional concept. Bad luck! That explains the price too [= oh well. Market opportunity, anyone...

Re: Problem with 8.0.4

when i had that it was always a 3rd party VST in the project that made live crash. if you remember which ones you used, try renaming them one at a time so they can't be loaded. live will then either crash until you found the failing plug or load the project telling you about missing plugs and showin...

Re: Ableton Live alternative?

the ethernet-authorization-problem was fixed in one of the latest updates, don't remember if it was 8.0.3 or 8.0.4. i don't think ableton will ever vanish as the userbase and people willing to pay for the updates is huge. but if they'd do, there's always the h4xx0r scene left that gets the app "auth...

Re: AD Big Seq 2

tbh, just buy it.. if you don't like it, you get your money back. i own reaktor as well as big seq 2, but i own almost every AD vst as i just love that they are reasonable priced and are very good in what they do. and they are very well coded and tested (like the superb reverb Eos - great sounding b...

Re: Ableton Live alternative?

first of all... what is "standard"?? i'm on windows and know win apps best. but i guess on mac there are things done differently. as ableton live is available for both platforms, what do you expect? should it work like win or mac apps? the best way is to use another approach and make that the same o...

Re: it's official, next year I don't upgrade till it's stable

I'm sure there was some financial pressure on the development cycle. Reality is not ideal. AFAIK (since ver 3) this was the longest release time for Ableton ever. it was rushed? I don't think so. /rant well, i think that is because afaik there were many if not all parts from the engine rewritten fr...

Re: it's official, next year I don't upgrade till it's stable

to chime in here: i got stability problems with live 8 as i wrote 2 pages back, but i didn't complain about them yet as i got random crashes and can't figure out what causes them.. so in this case even contacting the support wouldn't help really. I know this isn't everybody's favorite answer, but i...

Re: Nice Electronic & Acoustic Drums Plug-in recommendations

i can recommend drumular http://www.redshiftaudio.com/html/drumular.html it's a combination of drumsynth and drumsampler, so you can load acoustic samples but you are still able to use synth-modules for electronic sounds in other cells. and it's great value for money as it's only 39$. i think djsync...
