i don't know if you've bought a new controller, but have you thought of having the uf8 painted?

you probably couldn't paint the area around the controllers without breaking the bank though.

but...the UF8 isn't so bad looking...

There is the strong possibility that only ONE port will work properly with the trigger finger...the trick is figuring out which one. the suggestion i posted was for the macbook pro 17...i don't know for the imac

i think that there is a good chance that it is an issue with the computer, as i have the MBP 17" as well and there are slight issues with USB ports. (only one works flawlessly) i think you might want to try a firewire 9 to 6 pin cable if you know someone with it and see if the 800 port might supply ...

And, buying the ram later will probably be more expensive than the discount you usually get when you buy the components together at once. Not to mention the fact the you're only getting a 512mb chip, and not a 1gb chip, which means you'll probably only be able to put in 1gb later, for a total of 1....
