Any Pioneer EFX users?

I love mine and although I made a big switch from hardware to software recently, it is one of th hardware devices I didn't want to part with. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has any idea as to what is different about its delay. I honestly can't for the life of me get any delay plugins to work...

Re: Melda Production Effects

The looks thing does seem a little silly (and I can say that it's silly because I brought it up as an issue) but I suppose it's natural to want something to look good and I'd guess that it would subtly help "workflow" if ooking at the GUI isn't something that makes you cry. :P I didn't realise Ohm d...

Re: Melda Production Effects

I looked at these a while back and for some reason was not overly impressed with them. It was just a quick glance and at that glance they looked a bit drab. But obviously the looks of an audio plugin aren't really the most important thing. I've just had a better look and a bit of a read and a few so...

Re: dmiFlute and other VSTi's...

works fine here : PC Qcore - LIVE 8.2.1 I think the key here is that you're on a PC. So now you at least have one thing to bring up in the PC vs. Mac debates: you can use the free dmiFlute VSTi. :P Just joking. I'm not pro Mac like that. Use TimeMachine™ :P I don't think it can revert Intel to PPC....

Re: commands disappear in context menus (rename command)

Very often I right-click and my context menu is completely blank until I right-click again or move the cursor into the white space. Bit odd. I'm using OS X too.

Re: Drum Machines Authorization

I'm pretty sure some of the "lighter" versions don't have access to Drum Racks though but that's more understandable. afaik live light/intro let you play drum rack presets from the library or add-ons, but you can't edit them or create your own. Normal Live lets you edit presets and design your own ...

Re: Recording drums at studio for mixing at home - tips?

In addition to what swishniak just said, it does seem that you will be very much at the mercy of the sound engineer who sets up the mics and records the session. I'm not advising you to interfere (unless you strongly think he's doing something horribly wrong), as getting too involved with some sound...

Re: Is synthesizer programming somewhat universal?

Different synths will have different idiosyncrasies and occasionally even different terminology but the general theory will apply all round. As the above poster suggested, if you grasp those four key areas, you'll be well away with any synth but may make quicker progress sticking to one synth (for i...

Re: Drum Machines Authorization

heard from an ableton certified trainer that it was an add on Oh dear, oh dear... Doesn't seem like that certificate is proof of much then. :P I do not have Suite, just Live 8, and have full use (as far as I know) of Drum Racks. Drum Machines is, indeed, an add-on that you can buy separately or get...

Re: Drum Machines Authorization

You need a license for Drum Racks. You can only use Impulse in regular live, which is kind of limited. This is not true. Drum Racks are entirely included and available in Live 8. They are not a Suite 8-only thing. Unless I'm just lucky... Sorry. They want more money from you to use the program the ...

That's probably the reason then. Never mind. Hardly like it's ruined my musical output or anything. :P

I just remember playing with it many a moon ago and making some interesting noises with it and thought I'd give it another go. Not to be though.

Re: dmiFlute and other VSTi's...

Okay. Thank you very much for trying. At least I'm not going crazy. Maybe it's actually a PPC-only VST? I don't think it says that and I don't know enough about such things. Just a thought.

Thanks again for trying it though.

Yes, it's not a particularly recent one. But I still thought it would work.

Have you just tried it per chance then?

Is anyone managing to use this "flute" plugin or any VSTi in Live?
