Re: renowned vst synths vs. Ableton built-in instruments

Analog and Electric are VST synths (Made by AAS). Operator is an excellent FM synth.

There is no real difference between VST's and Live's instruments. So you may as well ask about having 3 VST synths and can I make the sound from VST X... Lots of synths have unique sweet spots and character.

Re: Abandoning the computer

I have an Analog Keys now and the Rytm is still on order. The AK is excellent sounding... and saves cpu... not trying to be computer free, just freer. Elektron is the sh*t

Re: Ableton compared to other DAWS

Anything you can do somewhere else, you can do in Live... maybe DAW X has feature Y and it makes it a bit quicker from point A to point B... but that is all. And each DAW has its strengths and weaknesses. My suggestion: Find out why (specifically) your tracks don't sound as good as the ones you are ...

Re: How to make a sound solo everything else when it plays

Use an envelope follower driven by the horn track... use that to modulate the level of the grouped output of the other tracks... basically, it is ducking

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Review

Way, way more than a toy for sure. :? Everything that you showed in your review screemed toy to me! It is a kind of toy in a way and that is exactly its appeal. I think its arrival is timely cause over the past years more and more people are frustrated with the super-complexity of gear. Everything ...

Here is the original sound in use: http://christopherpisz.chickenkiller.com/temp/gnana.wav Here is how crappy mine sounds: http://christopherpisz.chickenkiller.com/temp/gnana1.mp3 I think that is as close as I can get with what's provided. It is missing the second bend's emphasis, it sounds like ju...

Re: Pitch Bending Envelope

Do it by ear... Yea, I want to spend a half hour trying to find the exact number out of ~16300 that isn't a little off key.... There has to be a better way. with practice you will be able to do it in seconds... and sometimes slightly off sounds better in a given instance than mathematical correctne...

Re: Ableton Live 10

I'm in no hurry for VST3 support... there is lots of other stuff I would rather have first. Automation PDC Don't really need more clever tools... I have yet to even try the audio to midi feature. Lots of added features over the years have been 50-75% of awesome. I'd rather have a ton of small and sm...

Re: One of the Greatest Rants EVER!!!!!

yes, it's a little disheartening that your or my favorite band is struggling while other seemingly mediocre artists make money. Pop music is not about music... it is about selling an image... it is advertising for cultural memes (pun intended) Musical talent is not as important as beauty and being ...

Re: 9 point 1 point 3

Yup... disappointing that Push development essentially stopped... Makes me wonder if it is being tied to the next major Live upgrade. That would be a major fuck you to the users of Push :x But I somehow doubt it, that's not how Ableton operates, remember they gave Live 8 64bit support in 8.4 just b...
