Re: UC-33e tips and tricks

I'm afraid you just can't use the uc33e in the way you'd ideally like. You can certainly map the vst controls uniquely in each project, but you can't really have it setup so that it defaults to those controls automatically, you have to map each instance yourself, for a specific project. The only way...

That is seriously awesome. We don't have that in Toronto, wish we did. We do have a free Live User Group, with guest speakers, covering different topics, but it's only a few times a year it seems.

Genelec 8020A's for 190 pounds. Some fostex as well. Tons of monitors I haven't heard about though, as a poster above commented.

Re: Ableton for Production - Advice on Hardware Mixer, please

Wouldn't you still need an interface to route all the 16 channels individually from Ableton to the Mixer? Also, it looks like it supports midi, so you could control sends with that I suppose, as opposed to individually using routng aux channels? I've thought about going this route for a while myself...

Re: Ableton for Production - Advice on Hardware Mixer, please

I'm in a similar situation, currently considering this... http://www.mackie.com/products/1604vlz3/ It doesn't support midi at all though, so each channel would have to get routed individually and as a whole would need to be paired with a midi controller of some sort (uc33e/livid code/etc) for effect...

Re: Question regarding mic recording of percs...

^^^^ Fuck I never even thought about that, but it would make sense. I'll have to check the specifications, but its a standard XLR input so I guess it must be mono then? As I said earlier, I bought it just to be able to use with shakers, tams, etc., to humanize my tracks a bit. Can/Should this type o...

Question regarding mic recording of percs...

This might be a really stupid question, but I'll give it a go anyways, as I'm sure someone will be able to point me in the right direction rather quickly. I've always used samples / midi when making music before. However, I've recently purchased a microphone in an attempt to humanize things a little...

Re: Live 8 gets 64bit support.

Awesome news... Before I grab the beta, can anyone recommend a 32-bit vst bridging option for windows? Preferably one that's been tested with this release 64 bit release of live? I have a lot of plugins that are only 32bit, or I've neglected to previously install the 64bit version, so if a decent b...
