Re: Broken tweeter on Alesis M1 Active Mk2 speaker.

Shit this just happened to me. I couldn't find a replacement tweeter from the link above-does anyone know where else I can go to get a replacement?

As a last resort, any suggestions on completely new monitors? Thinking either something from KRK or Mackie.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Hey JMFone, you were also on the fence over this one. What were the main things that swayed you to the Machine side? I really hope Jesse gets a look at this thread; Ableton may lose quite a number of customers and threads like this might give them a good idea why. Yeah mate I could have gone either...

I just got this:

The thing is, any software based feature will inevitably end up on both platforms eventually. The hardware is what matters the most.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Lots of the youtube vids show the hip-hop scene has really taken to Maschine. I'm just interested what genres you are all into and if there is any correlation between genre and PUSH/Maschine. Personally Im into house/techno/breaks/dnb stuff. The maschine looks great for sampling so the hip-hop vibe ...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

At the moment I'm leaning on getting Maschine. I like the idea of Push as it obviously integrates perfectly into Live and prob won't tax your CPU, but Maschine just looks better/more useful.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Ive Been saying the same thing now everytime someone ask the question : Both controllers are very good. If you want to do extensive sampling without touching the mouse, go with maschine. If you are more of a VSTs guy, doing everything in midi, go with push. If you have komplete 8 and want to access...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Just to add abit of spice to the debate, I just found this!

It's the first vid I've seen of it when someone is actually playing on it and not just explaining the functions.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

To be honest, that video at the top of the page really turned me off machine. He spent so much time just setting things up. Very little actual music production. My 1st priority is to eliminate the things that get in the way of achieving something and this just looks like more unproductive distractio...

Re: To Master or not - your own tracks?

On the sonic academy website, on almost all the interviews with the pros, their number 1 tip for getting a good master is to send it to a third party. On the other hand, no harm in learning how to do something yourself.

Re: How long do you spend on various parts of a tune?

I usually stumble across parts rather than specifically work on things but I reckon I could spend about 30mins getting a patch out, then another 30mins tweaking it and making it sit right and also seeing how I can automate it. Arrangement doesn't take me long but I often have to back into session to...
