Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor
Built-in FireWire
256MB of RAM
3GB of available hard disk space (4GB if you install the developer tools)

Newer computers seem to benefit more from the speed enhancements, though.

So many arguments on both sides.... For me its definitely no question. Music is not my profession and so I want to do all things on one machine and for me there is NO WAY around MacOS X! I do everything I can imagine without rebooting my machine for weeks, on the internet it´s bulletproof, it´s reli...

I have installed "Menue Meters" which always tells me the memory usage statistics (among other infos - a great free app!). With my 1GB on the Powerbook I never am close to running out of RAM, even though I have all samples loaded into RAM. But that can be different for you, depending on how you work...

The 12" 867 has no 2nd Level Cache as far as I know.
This should be a serious performance killer with live.

I´d love to know, too, because I was working in Barcelona for a couple of days but had to go back the day it started.

Can´t always win ;o)

In October I´ll be there for the LEM Festival, anyway!

faderfox review

I use a LX-1 (this 8*8 button box) and it´s absolutely great! It´s small, lightweight (though not feeling cheap at all). It runs on batteries but seems to be not very hungry, I´m using mine for 2 months now and the first set of batteries is still working fine. In addition, I use a Cooper Fadermaster...

copying sound from one computer to another

I want to transfer a couple of heavily mutated sound (envelopes on plug-in parameters etc) from one live session to another. The sound themselves are copied ok but the envelopes for the effect parameters don´t show up anymore in the new session. Do I have to copy all the individual envelopes one by ...

sync ´ed

We do this regularly: 2 PB G4 (867 and 1250),MacOS X 10.2.6 and 10.3.3, Live 3.03. The choice of MIDI interfaces is critical, though. I can´t use the Oxygen as a Master and the Novation ReMote25 as a slave. In this config another MIDI Interface (here: MT4 Emagic) is required. Since the Oxygen doen´t...

question about envelopes

Hope this hasn´t been asked yet: Some questions concerning the envelops in Live3: Is there a way to use the envelopes like with a conventional Sampler, i.e. loop start after sample start? And- is ther a way to imitate the release parameter of a conventional synth-amplifier envelope (fade out starts ...
