do you get an error message when it crashes? I just got one, and had just this problem. It was some plugins it didn't like (GRM tools). After a bunch of attempts (and error messages about the plugins) it had disabled them all. Now it works, although without those plugins of course. I'm guessing your...

Yeah, checked you out on my spaz :) - looks like there's loads going on round ere I've not really discovered yet. Still mostly go out in Bristol; also big party scene down in Dorset, though it's a bit, erm, trustafarian IMO. Used to live down in Devon and still know some good stuff going on in Devon...

I was just about to get one of these. I know there's no automapping with Live, but you can use it the regular way with MIDI learn etc., no? I'm mostly planning on using it for plugins, but I thought I might use it for the odd spot of DJing, where I'd only need to assign the cross-fader and a few bit...

I do - sorry! Don't want much - just the logical extension of being able to put video clips in session view. I think that would be mental, though I do understand that those who don't work with video at all wouldn't give a monkeys.

Don't mind if it's an extra, mind - would be fair enough I guess..

thanks for positive feedback guys - appreciate it.. kpa - yeah, I hate most mashups too (that's why I've never done one before). This really came about cos I like the bassline of the Wiley tune but am less keen on.. well, the Wiley bit. Gave me an excuse to cut out most of his vocal. Warminstrel - y...

voodoo rolex mashup

I just did my first ever mash-up (in Ableton, of course). No idea why, and yes, I know I'm at least 10 years behind the times (bleeding edge, me). It's Wiley's 'Wearing my Rolex' + A Guy Called Gerald's 'Voodoo Ray'. It's not big, it's not clever, it's not even really a mash-up I guess but started o...

the more I think about this, the more I think it's the BIGGEST rip-off ever. The wierd thing is, it's responding to a personal prayer of mine. I've been working all over the place recently, and dragging an MBox 2 Pro around with me, wishing for something tiny instead. But this is absolutely, clearly...

rikhyray - I hear what yer saying, but don't forget he needs some of that CPU power for audio! Personally I generally run audio and video on seperate machines, but if I can't do that I really have to keep things lean and mean in terms of the video as my music tends to be quite processor-hungry to st...

You should probably use JPEG compression - I know that sounds like an odd choice, and no, I didn't know you could use it for video either, but look in the list in QuickTime Pro or whatever and it's there. This compresses each frame seperately (most other compressors rely on 'cheating' by missing out...
