don't forget it's got multiple outputs - you can route them to different tracks in Live and apply different fx and stuff - nice!

This is certainly fantastic news. I use Live and Max together all the time. This weekend I'm doing an AV performance using my standard setup - Live on one laptop with a bunch of pluggo-made plugins sending OSC messages to a second laptop running a big old Jitter patch - basically a kind of 'video Li...

bcr2000 naughtiness

Hi. Noticed a few bcr2000 posts today. Thought I'd get mine in there too! I'm having some problems with mine - basically a kind of 'cross-talk', where moving one knob will make faint little lights appear on another one too. It's got worse, and this is the second one I've had with this fault! (send t...

Yes, though all it really seems to say is to email them for more info (which I've done). I guess I'm just being a little impatient as I wanted to get the u/g today and spend my Sunday playing around with it!

Educational discount

Seen a few mentions of this recently - I'm a long-term user of Live (and a Lecturer), but I didn't know they offered discounts. I'm after the 5-6 upgrade and Sampler - can anyone who's bought these with the discount tell me how they went about it?

Thanks

soundhack - www.soundhack.com (freeware section)

it's mac only, no UB for Intel Macs yes, and it's not so user friendly...

but nonetheless, it's free and has some AWESOME processing cababilities, including a varispeed function that I've got fantastic results from - miles ahead of anything else.

yeah, IMO NI are totally losing the plot this year. The UB thing is just the tip of the iceberg - the fact is that there has been NO development on ANY of their exisiting software - I guess they've put all of their R&D into Kore and the pointless interface thing. I guess that's their call, but it's ...

so, can I just get this clear -
can you now use video clips in session view too? (cos I know you couldn't in earlier versions of the beta). If so - shit! (in a good way..)

Can't find out for myself cos still haven't been able to get my hands on that beta (grrr...)

Cheers

Yeah, you can make VST/MAS/Audio Unit plugins. Slightly tricky, but you can do some very funky things. I find I can get Live to do pretty much EXACTLY what I want - cos anything that's not built in to the app I've put together as a plugin. Very nice to be able to tailor things in this way - much rec...

Haven't had a chance to play with this, but personally I'm totally in favour. I know some would disagree with this, but I'd like to see them develop this even further in the future (within reason - I agree that the bulk of development overheads should of course go on audio). If you could have video ...
