Re: what will fluency in Max yield?

I have been a Max programmer for 6 years...learning Max is what got me interested in other programming projects. From an Ableton Live perspective, learning Max will enable you to quickly come up with a solution whenever you encounter a "need" or "problem"...these could be workflow enhancements, smal...

You're doing something wrong. Shift click works for me...On Mountain Lion w/ Live 9.

Re: Browser Favorites

Well, that means creating a new folder on your HD, adding it to Places and then essentially copy/pasting stuff from their original location to that new Folder. If there is already an indexing feature in the browser there shouldn't be a need for that. I like to keep my Sample folder structure and hie...

Browser Favorites

If we're already indexing samples, it would be nice to be able to right click anything in the browser and hit "Add to Favorites"...A Favorite location could be added in the sidebar. This would make it much easier for those of us with huge libraries to organize within Live.

Caaaahm on, common sense!

There is a MaxforLive device that lets you open, save, and edit skins within Live.

Re: Live for Leap Motion

Why? I have a development unit, and here is already a MAXMSP external made for Leap...so anything you want can be done with the M4L interface.

This has nothing to do with a problem in EQ8. Change the Q, as mentioned above, or experiment with other EQ's

What do you want to accomplish? Battery 4 Library comes in unencrypted .wav's this time so you could just use the samples if you wanted.

Re: ill Gates

I had the cash to spare so I paid 50 dollars for a year subscription to his site/workshop. So far, there is only one "Workshop" with more to come in the future (Maybe?). If you have been producing for any decent amount of time and have watched the free videos about this on Youtube, the subscription ...

Re: 33% Shuffle note editing grid in Live? how to?

When you apply a groove it shows up in the groove pool where you can edit some properties of the groove...the timing parameter is there. Your swing sounds fine...you could make it better by adding some well placed velocity variations on the hat, and sidechaining it to the kick slightly. Don't go cra...

Re: 33% Shuffle note editing grid in Live? how to?

AFAIK you cannot have a dynamic shuffle grid like in that tutorial in Live...if you have a groove active in a certain midi clip then you can just edit and add notes "on the grid" and it will play right away as shuffled...you don't need to wait until after you make a pattern to apply the groove and h...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

True, if it were fast this thread wouldn't exist. The problem is that it's slow and there are no currently implemented features that REALLY make use of indexing. So we are crawling through our library and creative workflow for no reason :(

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

I think this is more about what Ableton will be able to provide in the future because the data is IN a database then simply looking for the name of a sample and finding it othe drive. the Spotlight system on OS X is a full metadata and content database system, it's not just filenames. it is stupid ...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

Yes we should get the option of turning off indexing when adding a folder. The new browser is GREAT apart from that. Curious... What would this accomplish? Since Ableton is ONLY using the data in the database to navigate through the browser (unless I'm wrong about that), what would shutting off ind...
