Re: au in live

If you had Live running while you installed it, it won't show up until you quit and reopen Live. If this is not the case, check your plug-in settings in Live's preferences, under the File/folder tab. Make sure Use Audio Units is set to on. Then, in Live's browser, select the plug looking icon, under...

Re: beat repeat

Interval is how often you want the repeat to happen, so it depends on what sounds good to you. If you want it to happen every bar, set it to 1 bar.

Re: Ableton should produce an Operator midi controller

I have a vision for a Live device specific controller. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about how to even begin to realize this vision. Just in case someone could actually pull it off, what I'm thinking of has a touch interface in the center, rectangular in shape, similar in proportion to that ...

Re: Ni apology for Kore discontinuation, offers free packs?

They're FX presets. I'm not exactly sure which FX components are used. Be they Kore native, or perhaps using FX from Reaktor, or maybe a bit of both and all of the above. Check out the linked sound examples to get an idea of what they can do. I highly recommend the Deep Freq package and its cousins....

Re: Ni apology for Kore discontinuation, offers free packs?

I decided to go with the Deep series (Freq, Reconstructions, Transformations). Unfortunately, the serials weren't emailed to me straight away. I'm waiting to hear back from NI now. I can't even use them in any kind of demo mode either, as the serials are needed to finish the installers. Ah well... y...

Re: Ni apology for Kore discontinuation, offers free packs?

Thanks for the heads up! I had checked my email after seeing this and... bam! there it was. Now, I've got to narrow my list down: FM8 TRANSIENT ATTACKS MASSIVE THREAT BEST OF ABSYNTH BEST OF MASSIVE DEEP FREQ DEEP RECONSTRUCTIONS DEEP TRANSFORMATIONS ABSYNTH SPECTRAL EXPANSION I'm leaning more towar...

Re: impOscar 2 is finally out...

The controller looks really nice, and guess what? You can use it with other soft-synths too! :P But seriously, this plug sounds great. I might even go so far as to compare it to the likes of a Virus TI. Too bad with the TI you can't get the plug only though, lol. I'd rather drop the price of ImpOsca...

Re: Ableton Crashed Pro tools on Bounce

Are you running Live as a Rewire slave? A bit more information will help a lot in this situation, as the culprit could be Pro Tools. I've frequently had bouncing problems with Pro Tools. So much so that I rarely use Pro Tools any more for anything. If I simply must bounce with it, I re-route the mas...

Re: NI Komplete 7 vs. Reason 5

+1 for Komplete. I believe you'll get a much wider range of instruments/sounds, which basically means more bang for your buck. Reaktor alone blows Reason away, IMO, even if you never learn how to patch your own instruments with it.

Re: Lady Gaga Judas uses synth-riff loop from Vengeance

Where do you draw the line? Were people getting mad at Beethoven because the C# minor scale had been used before? I can almost hear that conversation... "C# minor? Man, my piano's had that scale for years. Beethoven's a hack for using it." Granted, this analogy is a bit of a stretch in terms of tech...

Re: TImo Maas INSANE remix comp!

Not directed at the OP, but if someone knows enough about electronic music production to win a remix competition, why would they want a 6 month course on electronic music production? I'm guessing most of the content would just be review.
