Whatever the bass sound is the way it is compressed can add a ton of character. I have been using EAS Neodynium lately and it really can improve how my bass lines cut through.

What is all this nonsense about Disc Jockeys? As far as I am aware, DJ's just spin records and discs. It's not like they are musicians or anything. They just play other's tunes for people to dance to. How hard can that be?

This is a good review for me having missed this whole scene completely. I just found out that drum and bass is a style not just part if my rhythm section.

Thanks Rev. I am still trying to get a grip on whether I even like this kind of music. So far I am hearing nothing that grabs me.

I don't know about that. The whole thing is a mystery to me. Messing with audio is a big PITA. I'd rather work with midi any day.

Very cool! I will read up and see what all the fuss is. I keep seeing these terms and was curious to know what they are about. I was hoping for a Live specific tutorial, though. The one for Tracktion is probably OK but I really hate using Tracktion.

Cheers,
Gordon

You're kidding. My Oxford does not have these terms. They are recent jtechnical terms. More than a definition I need some idea of what the techniques are.
