Re: a new version / beta please...

+1 even when i dont care about mfl features its scarry when they leave us in such a state with L8.. dont know if i will be into buying L9 and repeat the struggle as a paying betatester.. i guess the set of new features will be pretty iresistable again.. but when they dont fix L8 first.. I also wonde...

Re: Audio Engine Test - Live Versus Pro Tools Versus Logic

i dont see a test valid that works with virtual sample instruments.. that what is eaten away in lives mixing process are details in the room information of the tracks.. therefor with sampleinstruments that dont hold such information there cant get anything lost. Such a test with a classical multrit...

Re: Ableton Live 9 before summer ? end of 2011 ? early 2012 ?

I hope they do it the Apple way and not say a peep until it's tested and on sale the same day they announce it. I hate when companies announce a new update and you have to wait months to actually use all the goodies you're drooling over. :) +1 the lately special offers with such a high percentage o...

Re: Plastikman aka Richie H...

thanks for that. note: Ableton at 1:06... clearly he is not held back by the brown henke dither..... note he was carrying a mobile protools HD with him arround the world not so long ago and has a real mixing desk in the studio. And he uses a real mixing desk on stage. Allways. Question is whether h...

Re: Audio Engine Test - Live Versus Pro Tools Versus Logic

i dont see a test valid that works with virtual sample instruments.. But isn't that how most people on this forum make music? I said at the outset of my post, that I realize these results do not account for audio only projects. All projekts are audio only projekts in the end.. a daw should be able ...

Re: Audio Engine Test - Live Versus Pro Tools Versus Logic

[ The null test shows the absolute difference between two sound events in the digital domain. This is simple math, +1 + -1 is Zero in every universe I know. With Lives Spectrum Analyzer you can see differences down to around -179 dB. (the last two bits of 32 bits). that also indicates that you done...

Re: Audio Engine Test - Live Versus Pro Tools Versus Logic

regarding the protools 48 bit.. of cause its just the internal bit width and the output gets dithred down to 24 bits.. and with live we have 32 bit float without any dithering... right? so what happens when we listen to this output with 24 bid DA converters? You missed the point with PT - the dithe...

And no renderings are allowed to take place.. we dont want to know how good a daw renders.. we want to know how good it sounds. Luckily I have a Jazz (Big Band) recording with 20 tracks on my harddisk. I rendered a part of it as A 32 bit file (44.1k). After that I loaded that rendered track in Quic...

that could be even good for live because it likes to clip internaly much earlier than the meters suggest Could not confirm  Internal bus overhead in live (8) is about 70dB (about 12bit) Please describe a test scenario where you examine this behavior. cheers palmer there is no indication of in...

Re: Audio Engine Test - Live Versus Pro Tools Versus Logic

it's interesting you speak about correlation of tempo to samplerate ive noticed that few daws tend to drifts when tempi arent plain numbers of 'blocs'. the smaller operation precision is often of buffersize rather than sample size wich ar intepoled, therefore there are some 'magic tempis' that fit ...
