Topic: Live wont "Save Set as Self Contained"

I'm not on a Mac, and I never read of something like this. But maybe you should first make sure you're not confusing samples you use to make several clips in Live and the clips themselves. Self contained does *not* mean that Live is producing samples of your clips, it just puts the samples used *for...

I do have none of these problems, to the contrary mouse behaviour in LIVE appears more precise to me since 2.x, especially with clip-movements and numbers. But since I updateted my pointer and graphics drivers recently, improvements could be related to these (FYI: I'm even using a wireless optical d...

Mackie Guru

Hi Alex! Some guru over at the official Mackie forum mentioned, that any old versions of UAD plugins left after an update may cause trouble. What puzzles me about this statement is, that there should not be any registration from older plugins left with the system after updating. If, by now, it means...

Bump

I now sort of *fixed* this by - first completly uninstalling all UAD (removing the dlls from the path won't do), - then cleaning out every instance of (now empty) UAD DelayComps from my LIVE-Sets (have to insert all the 3.01 ones again now, hmm...) - and finally reinstalling all UAD 3.01. -> Works l...

Updated UAD DelayComp crashes Live 2.03

I updated the UAD-plugins to 3.01 today. ableton Live now doesn't load Sets anymore wich have the earlier UAD DelayComp loaded in one or more tracks: - Load a set in 2.03 wich includes UAD DelayComp inserted before updating the UAD-plugins -> First message is about 'Path\to\my\VSTfolder\...\UAD Dela...

The plugin preset management is up to the host, if the Plugin doesn't provide an internal preset management ...wich is what I call generic. But it does save your presets you use into a song. ... well, as I wrote, it does *not* with Waldorf D-pole. FYI: Another, more important thing occured today, a...

You can only save the settings of your VST plugin with a song for now. Many plugins provide their own interface for preset handling, but not the ThrillMe plugin. There seems to be some limitation with generic save/load-mechanisms from Live too, wich can be very annoying: I haven't been using my UAD...

I would like to throw something in at this point. And let me state that it is more important for people being citizens of the U.S. than anyone else. Several issues seem to be more obvious to someone not looking at himself as part of this nation or not being responsible in terms of its society: - Peo...

Right, BPM-guessing always sucks...

But using Re-Pitch and setting the BPM according to the BPM of the whole set (if the set runs at 85 BPM set the clip to 85 BPM too and choose Re-Pitch) seems to work fine (at least in 2.01).

I can't remember how this was in 1.5 or earlier. Hope that helps...

If you want Live to keep track of your samples while working on different setups, best is to save your sets selfcontained. Anything else naturally is up to the way you keep your things in order (resp. in place)... or the way your OS is coping with such tasks.

I can work perfectly this way ;)
