Re: Focusrite saffire 6 or Motu Microbook??

I just got a Focusrite Scarlett 816 . It's basically a new version of the Saffire, it is now USB 2.0 it is compatable with win 7 64 bit and it has more ins/outs available than the microbook. 4 inputs / 4 outputs was real important to me, 2 of those ins are Focusrite Pres and can accept XLR without a...

Re: Best live band + ableton combo

I play in the Duende Mountain Duo (keys/drums) and we are starting to use Ableton a lot. I don't have any clips or vids to share though. We started out not using laptops for the first three years we were together. (playing bass with left hand, melodies and rhythm with my right) As Far as EOTO vs Big...

Re: new file, add z3ta+, press CTRL -> crash. wtf?

I've started experiencing similar crashes as well. Good to know what's causing it. In a few of my crashes I've certainly used the up/down keys and CTRL, that explains it.

i've submitted I think half a dozen crash reports now.

I guess when dealing with Z3TA I need to stay away from the keyboard...

Launchpad Weirdness when used with nanokontrol and Oxygen 8

Hello, I have a strange scenario, I just got my launchpad today, and I intend to use it with my oxygen 8 and nanokontrol, but I've noticed in sets where I have things mapped to the Oxygen or NanoKontrol the Launchpad will start behaving strangley For example, the session button will flash and will f...

Re: Mapping MIDI CCs to controller (external hardware control)

Bump, the REAplugin didn't work, any ideas on how to control CCs going to external MIDI hardware and perhaps map them to a knob in a live device?

Or is this impossible without Max4Live?

Re: Question about Korg Nanokontrol + Ableton Live ...

You can map anything to anything. So pretty much the answer to your questions 1,2,3,5 is YES. I use a mix of audio clips (1-4 tracks), Vsts (1-2 tracks), and MIDI Clips controlling external hardware. (4 or 5 tracks) Here is how I mapped mine: Faders are volume for audio or VST tracks. the midi track...

Re: Still trying to decide ... why ableton?

I recently jumped on board with Ableton. I've been a FL Studio user for over a decade, It's workflow just "works" for me, I can bang out ideas in no time. And I will continue to use FL Studio for starting ideas and arranging, then I extract the stems From FL Studio and put them into Ableton. I guess...

Re: Mapping MIDI CCs to controller (external hardware control)

Here is my setup I have 4 MIDI tracks, each set to send on a different channel. So the first midi channel Sends on Channel 5, out of my MIDI interface. You set this up in the i/o section of each track. MIDI OUT set to your Midi interface (in your case I guess it'd be the POD) and MIDI channel set to...

Why not? I've had mine for almost a year now and I think it's fantastic.
Since I didn't buy the Saffire I can now buy Focusrites new USB 2.0 offering, the scarlett, see my link in previous post.

Re: Mapping MIDI CCs to controller (external hardware control)

as far as program changes there is a field in each midi clip to select programs. Works fine on my end. Although that's on a per-pattern basis.

Re: Mapping MIDI CCs to controller (external hardware control)

thanks for the tip! I know about max for live, but currently don't own it. I don't know I want to spend the cash on something that should, IMO, be standard with a DAW

I do have reaper installed, so I'll look into that!
