Re: Midi Guitar - Jam Origin

okay had a quick play-around. 1st impression is excellent. there's some black magic happening under the hood. the polyphonic detection is very, very good. another nice surprise is the included midi machine plugin. they've basically exposed midi events to a functional programming language so you can ...

Re: Reaktor 5 on sale for $99 until May 28th

reaktor at this price is a huge value. imo, there's a handful of user submitted ensembles that are worth the price alone. some favorites: minimojo is an excellent, dirty-sounding moog emulation. frame3 is a very playable granular synth. fastfx core is fun for quickly shuffling, freezing an audio str...

Re: Midi Guitar - Jam Origens

interesting. so this sits as a vst on an audio track and sends midi out? i used to have a yamaha ez-eg, but the expressiveness just wasn't there. how's the latency?

Re: VST Multiple Midi Channel Output...Why Not

slicedbread, thanks for suggestions! Filtering out specific notes is pain if we are talking about drumrack, which is ranges-oriented. Even filtering won't work because the midi layouts usually overlap and not all instruments allow free remaping. eyeknow, I'm just expressing the need for this featur...

Re: VST Multiple Midi Channel Output...Why Not

microtonic does it by having 2 versions, one for multi-out, but the single out version will still send midi, and you can optionally disable the sound for that drum 'channel'. you just have to receive it from another track. i think you can do some funky workaround routings with the scale device and r...

Re: Presonus Cinco De Mayo Deals

i think the artist's version is the one they give out for free with their audio interfaces. are there any novel features in it that might be worth $5?

Re: MS Surface Pro Tablet Support?

hehe back from the dead... no doubt the default ui in ableton wouldn't work well for everything on a surface, but there are really cool apps for ipad that offer remote control for doing a subset of performance related stuff with touch. obviously, clip launching, maybe some big knobby knobs for a few...

Suite 7 => (Non-Suite) 9, keep everything from 7?

maybe a dumb question... if i upgrade from suite 7 to the base live 9 (without max for live or the amp sims), can i keep using operator, sampler, analog, drum machines + the suite 7 sound bank?

Re: MS Surface Pro Tablet Support?

Too soon. :x What would you say if I told you that several software companies are actively developing against Windows 8 right now and will have RT apps available for download on day one? 8O I'd venture to guess that most, if not all, software companies who target Windows have already at least downl...

MS Surface Pro Tablet Support?

Howdy, The sneak peek at the Surface tablet got me very optimistic about using it with Ableton Live. Granted the RT version will not be compatible, but the Pro version coming a few months after the October Surface release should be compatible with all legacy x86 applications. I'm wondering if anyone...

Re: not equal-tempered, just intonation & Live?

http://www.ageofthewheel.com/2010/11/ams-file-utility-for-ableton-live.html in case you decide to go the ams route, this tool will export a series of ams files that you can drag onto sampler and they should auto-map. unfortunately i lost the source code :( i had planned on adding more built-in tunin...

Re: Euclidean Rhythm Session File Resource + Video

aye mate that would be fine as for the process... erm i just used the euclidean rhythm as a framework then created variations on it i was messing about with the longer lengths to try and get away from the counter-rhythms against a basic pulse that the shorter rhythmic blocks tend to lead to to make...

Re: soundcloud

you can host your mp3 files somewhere like dropbox and use jwplayer or some other free flash/html5 player. this will require you to know html and a bit of javascript.
