Re: Autofilter

not sure if i understand your question but the perceived increase in db could be due to the gibbs effect. you can detect it when you apply sharp filters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibbs_phenomenon

Re: source/version control for audio projects

unless you're working with a team, a good naming / folder structure convention will usually suffice.

ableton has that new collaboration feature i havn;t really looked at yet but might do some of that.

for anything more complex, subversion is very popular and free but you'll need a client.

Re: (UPDATE+vid) - ableton chord session based on circle of 5ths

**** update added 13th and 9th chords **** another video with arpeggiators is in the works. also i've been getting a surprising amount of critism on youtube from people saying that this is somehow cheating. here's something i wrote in another thread in the tips and tricks forum that sums up my feeli...

Re: chord help using the tonys chords pack

< tony here. i think you're the same person who emailed me on the youtube. you can substitue any of the extended chords listed under the root note up top (13th, 9th, 7th, etc...) with whatever chord it's extending (Maj, Min) in each chord grouping. it's impractical to make every possible combination...

Re: OT: Pro Tools Screencast - how to capture audio?

hahaha dude, it's not that bad. i like a hands on signal flow. software now is good at capturing all soundcard/system audio output like wiretap but i haven't seen that combined with a screen capture software yet. i could be wrong though.

not sure about the protools thing though.

Re: OT: Pro Tools Screencast - how to capture audio?

when screencasting/screen capturing i usually run all my sound (ie... system sounds + voice) out of whatever i'm monitoring through and send that mix to a separate recording input. camstudio (pc) makes it pretty easy to choose that device + input pair as a recording device as a "mic" input. i litera...

Re: Chord Preset Question...?

ahhh then you need to print the generated midi to another track. in your track, put the sends to another midi track, arm THAT track to record and play. your notes should be printed out and ready for you to tweak.

Re: Chord Preset Question...?

i'm not familiar with that chord pack but i'd make sure the note you're playing is actually playing into whatever rack mechanism is set up in the preset. expand the preset until you can see the keyboard and hit the note you're trying to use to see if the note falls within the effected zone on the ke...

any way to 'lock' the fold behavior in the piano roll?

probably a dumb questions but for how i work i like to go into fold mode so i can't hit bum notes when editing midi. but if i happen to have an unused note in 1 clip, then i go into another clip, when i go back, the clip has collapsed and i loose the note. can i lock the fold so i can leave and come...
