Re: Guitar Rig Alternatives

Another Pod X3 vote here. I keep wanting to buy this, but then I wonder how much better the amp emulations are than my original Pod v.2. I do most of my effects processing in the box so that all my LFOs, phasers, chorus, delays, are all timed in Live, so as a result, all I'm looking for is good amp...

From what you say I am quite like you, more player than producer. I've tried many 3rd PP but I've realized that it takes a lot of time and effort to use them proficiently. With the addition of drum racks in 7 and the new effects in 8 (just got the beta 2 days ago and it's awesome) I see that since i...

do you have a usb keyboard controller? Why not hook it up, record enable, hit play, and go nuts? Then you can refine the results by quantizing, erasing, duplicating, etc etc. Sounds a little less tedious than drawing it in note by note. Man have you ever even heard the Malmsteen guy he is talking a...

Re: Is there a way to draw very fast midi scales quickly?

with the pencil or other tools? what i want to achieve is a shredding guitar a-la-malmsteen using tension and some fx. Oh and btw, which would be the quickest way to add harmonies? thanks If you just want to use a Malmsteen run it is not that difficult. There's a program called Guitar Pro and a tab...

Woooow, this is amazing!! I was always a bit disappointed by my Macs performance, I mean it was ok, but not what I expected from a 2,5 ghz C2D. Now I did what you said with Coolbook and effectively I was only using 1200mhz. With the whole power my CPU usage drops by 25%. Cool man thx a lot for this ...

I'm just discovering Live 7 now and I realize that Drum racks are fuckin' great. The way they open up and the easy routing for the sidechain. Fantastic! :D Also the way you can edit all the hits with loop, length, fade, etc. I know this is old news but I'm so in awe with this workflow that I'm gonna...

You can't take apart Live's current devices, but I wouldn't be surprised to see most of them reconstructed in Max within months. In the end, Max will offer a few options that Live does not do with Racks. For example, it should be no problem to send audio from the last device in your chain to the fi...
