Re: instrument shops in New York

Hi - are there any big music technology shops in NYC? For keyboards etc. Thanks! Absolutely. West 48th St between 6th and 7th Avenues is the "music hub" of NYC. There you'll find Manny's, one of the world's best known music stores, and the Manhattan branch of the Sam Ash music store chain. Anything...

Usually you'll need to go in and move the warp markers, the first tend to be off the beat, thus shifting the rest of them. Warping comoplete tunes isn;'t 100% automatic, it does require some tweakign to get thigns locked tight. Tarekith, I tried going in to get a better lineup; when I shifted a mar...

Hi, Here's a strange one: when I place short loops i.e. drum loop or bass loop, both audio tracks play in time but in my new DJ set up when I load MP3's and warp mark them, they do NOT play in the same tempo as the project tempo! What gives? Here's how I warp mark the MP3's: I disable the warp func...

I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but a likely workaround for now is using Windows Explorer to move the files up one level in the library structure and deleting the folder(s) Live added.

Live 6 demo songs

I just got the L6 Live Packs and loaded the Demo Songs. The "Little Demo (FX and Operators)" nearly blew my computer up! Over time, CPU usage went up to 112%; the timing was falling apart all over the place and I could hardly get the mouse pointer over to the Stop button. I'm running a 1.7 ghz P4 w/...

I think that was the ergonomic issue, Forge... ;) Absolutely right, Machinate! And a serious pain in the ass, it is. This setup is a big improvement over my previous layouts, but I still don't have enough space (you can't see the three boards leaning up against the wall behind the chair). I'm also ...

Vakis -

I had the same problem with Imageshack. Try Photobucket.com; simpler--and it works.

That works (execpt that when the browser is at the default width, you can't actually see the hot-swap button.) Odd that there's no direct way to "see what you've got" at any particular point. Thanks.

Noob device question

Sorry if this is obvious, but I haven't figured it out: How does one tell exactly what preset is being used in a device?

In Live 6, the top level of the Library should look like this: ... Got it. That's what I needed to be sure of. Thank you. Those .adg and .adv files in my upper Impulse and Simpler folders (I think these may have come from installing the Live 5 Packs)--can I move them to the Instruments folder or ar...
