Thiller sound -'brrr brr'

it's always annoyed me that i could never pin down that sound in thriller. today i tried to listen really closely to it. At exactly the same time, same rhythm, is the bass. Sounds to me like a DX type bass, and a second sound up an octave (maybe two?) seems to be a square wave that has a very fast l...

so did you install windows using bootcamp setup assistant? you neglected to mention that. once you have windows installed on the mac you then have to insert the Leopard dvd for windows to grab the mac drivers, so it can for example use the built in webcam etc etc. sorry if this sounds patronising. J...

check out any album by Isao Tomita.
Recreated famous orchestral pieces on vast moog setups.
Albums range about 1973 to about 1984 for the main synthy ones.

If you can get hold of it, The Bermuda Triangle by Tomita is incredible, and still unmatched in analogue complexity/recording in my eyes.

old ppc live set/ new intel imac - plug help

I've got some tracks i want to finish that were made on my old G5. All of the plugs were ppc/vst/au. I've got a problem in that when i try to load it into my intel mac, it can't find the old plugs. This is fine as i can sort most of them out with the modern updates. There is one that escapes me thou...

i've got the 20" 2.4ghz one with 4 gig of ram and it's REALLY nice. I used to have a G5 with dual 17" screens, and i don't miss any of that one bit. The 20" is a superb screen. I actually think the 24 is a bit OTT, the width is great, but it's just TOO tall for me. It's like sitting right in front o...
