Re: clip name save weirdness
I rename it using live browser drag drop rename.
Even tried renaming after the fact ones that had not been drag Dropped back into live browser - same result.
When I drag the renamed clip into session or arrange view it keeps the original name.

Re: Pop&Click when adding Tracks, Plugins, etc
I got my old audiophile 2496 set to 256 samples giving less than .1 second latency - could go lower but what's the point?

Re: Pop&Click when adding Tracks, Plugins, etc
what's the latency on 128 samples versus 64? I suspect you won't hear the difference unles you're a good keyboard player (like me - and I still can't hear the difference!)

Re: Is Live very CPU demanding?
You will have to trouble shoot it - try loading a lightweight instrument like operator - nothing else - new song. Create a patch with just a saw wave - what happens? Add different instruments and see if you can find a pattern in the poor performance. A few years ago I had an issue with Ableton Sampl...

Re: Is Live very CPU demanding?
Live itself is lightweight - multiple vsts kill it.
An i5 will handle Live with ease when properly configured.

I never found live 9.x buggy but my setup is very simple(r) - pure software.
