Re: What feature in live 9 would be a game changer for you
- 64 Bit - first and foremost - Generally make it slicker, easier to click around. - Scene follow actions - VST3 - More appearance customization options - More macro knobs - Better quality effects - Bigger meters - The ability to just isolate the session and arrange view, without that red arrow butt...

Re: ValhallaRoom vs RP-Verb
...and this http://www.valhalladsp.com/valhallaubermod is also coming soon...:-) Yeah I'm pumped about that. There are not a lot of great chorus plugs out there. The chorus is Zebra is pretty solid, but I always forget about Zebrify (effects and filters only version of Zebra that comes with it, if ...

Re: ValhallaRoom vs RP-Verb
Valhalla Room is excellent. It is one of the few plugins that I mess with and leave thinking, "well that sounds even better than I expected" rather than "good enough". Terrific value for $50. One thing to keep in mind with it - the range of sounds Vroom can produce are pretty wide. The different alg...

Do you think Ableton has noticed that people are anxious to get 9?

Open plugins interfaces with APC40?
Is there a way to open up the selected plugin's interface with the APC40? Either with the standard setup or with custom scripts? Mine should be delivered in the next couple days so I've been reading up and haven't come across any references to the ability to do that. Seems like a pretty good thing t...

Re: Will Ableton annouce Live 9 @ 131st AES Convention?
I bet they are trying to figure out how to make a direct Maschine competitor that doesn't seem like a total copy cat move, along with all of the other good stuff they are expected to be up to. That's got to be time consuming, but in the meantime, desktops from big box stores can be had with 16 gigs ...

That seems likely, though I wish they would get on with it already. 64 bit!Rave wrote:Abe's will wait for NAMM.

Re: Ableton Beginner Needs Controller Advice
Yeah, definitely a keyboard ahead of anything else. I'll throw in the LPD8 has a nice, compact and inexpensive piece. 8 drum pads and 8 knobs which map automatically to the first 8 adjustable device parameters in whatever you have selected in Live. Alternatively you can hard midi map them to whateve...

Re: Production Template.... what's in yours?
I just spent some time honing my template yesterday. Here's what I have set up - Drums - Geist with 9 midi tracks feeding into it, one per engine and one for the scenes, and 8 primary audio output tracks, one per engine, plus 8 extras just in case. Each midi track is loaded with 24 clips which will ...

Re: Playing vs programming
I do a combination often - playing but with the scale midi effect on and quantizing the notes to some extent or another. With a 'little' help I can play pretty well!

Re: What makes EQ plugins better than lives EQ8?
Usability and visual feedback is better in some 3rd party EQs. I demoed EQuick and was really impressed with how much more tactile it felt to work with. You can drag the points around in the GUI while still making fairly subtle changes. EQ8 is very twitchy in comparison. EQuick sounded nicer/sweeter...

Re: CPU question, Intel i7 or i5?
Unless you like getting new computers frequently, go bigger so that it lasts longer. I was planning on getting a new machine in Dec/Jan, but may hold off a couple months longer if Intel releases their new generation in March. I deal almost entirely with VSTs though and try to avoid bumping things do...
