Anyone know any tips or tricks for making ableton link by default?
There's three of us, three computers and different sets for each tracks.
Really don't want anyone to forget to not the link button one day on stage....
Is there an options text thing or anything?

Lk app
Hey all, Anyone got any experience with the lk app? I've just put it on my ipad, running through a lightning cable to ubridge and LoopMIDI. When it works, it's great. But it's so glitchy. Either lots of automatic muting in LoopMIDI or the cpu usage in live goes from about 10% to around 90% and it sl...

Re: Anybody using a desktop PC at gigs?
turns out , if you play at night, and a moth gets attracted to the light, it triggers all kinds of shit ! Ara LOL, I hadn't even considered this before, and spent ages looking into touchscreens. I'm glad I opted against now - although I wonder, being a barman of many years, I've never noticed moths...

Re: X/Y-Pads
Thanks for the reply! Yes, its new, not the old 30-pin dock connector, so I assume thats lightning. You're saying lightning to USB (if I get the right USB end) could plug in say, my Novation Nio2/4? which has MIDI iO, so the phone would run its sound (and MIDI) through this soundcard? That's interes...

X/Y-Pads
Hello all, I am looking to get some gear and wanted thoughts, opinions etc. X-Y Pads for ableton. I need two. Mine just died and my budget is an practical 0 right now, but it'll be an important buy later on. So, any recommendations? Have any of you used one often? The first one must have an easy axi...

Re: Need Helps for Midi problem (Advanced) 2017
Yeah, dunno that you can do that. You can play specific clips that you pick, or play the clip above or clip below, but I don't think you could do the last one that played without a script, but I know nothing about that end of stuff.

Re: Prevent Live to cut notes and sound when hitting Stop ?
I had a similar issue: Improv/jamming kinda thing on ableton, over a vocalist, with some set silences on particular words, so I need a hands on, instant stop, but hated the dead muted silence and unfinished drum sounds. Solution: Open up the crossfade, put your stuff on A. Reverb on a return channel...

Re: Need Helps for Midi problem (Advanced) 2017
Depends what your trying to do, but just "auto-populate notes to clips" type of thing? Then no....
But what are you actually trying to achieve? Maybe can help with that?

Went really glitchy and yes, removing stop buttons helped a lot. A LOT.

Re: Ways to promote your music without gigging
My band has just released a video, in the lead up to an album in a few months, so have been discussing this very thing. I've mostly been pushing us on vk.com, although the others have us on Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud and Instagram etc. The reason being here, VK is basically Russian Facebook, but ...

Mortalitech
I've just released a video with my band Mortalitech, 2/3s (hopefully) going on 3/3s of us use ableton, and I'd be grateful for any feedback on any of it, before we finish the album and try to find an appropriately niche booking agent or label etc.... It's electronic extreme metal - for want of a bet...

Re: Anybody using Focusrite audio interfaces?
For my band I got a Saffire Pro 14. Had some issues, but was the computer's faulty(/homemade) power supply to the firewire card that was messing it up, but since getting that fixed, its really reliable, and good quality sound/lack of latency.

Re: Chain selectors
I would approach that with dummy clips that's envelopes change the chain selector. That way you could assign the momentary buttons to launch them, and the change would stay until you played another, no? Also, here's a small snippet of a slow amassing rant in my mind: The legend 27 - Seriously? I don...

Re: about VST automation recording in Live
@the_subject if I'm talking about recording realtime automation I'm probably using Kore, Nocturn or something similar, and therefore I don't have 128 values, I have 65536. Huh. Thanks, I did not know this. Briefly used Novation Nocturn, if thats what you mean, but didn't get far with it. Never used...
