Re: Truths about perceived quality in audio interfaces for ITB

Thanks Erik, that's very helpful. Sounds like I'll be having a comparison session when I'm back up and running.

Re: Truths about perceived quality in audio interfaces for ITB

So that would imply that I could be shooting myself in the foot by opting for the Heat rather than the TC electronics or some new device. I think the best thing is to a/b them side by side for a while once I get my studio back up in the new house. I guess I was hoping for an abundant "it doesn'...

Re: Truths about perceived quality in audio interfaces for ITB

Thanks for your input. I'm not sure why this would be nor do I feel sure it was not just me. Not meaning to insult you  or sound like a know-it-all, but this thing of ours is littered with cognitive biases. Consumers are inclined to justify costly expenses, and "something different" ...

Truths about perceived quality in audio interfaces for ITB

There is a wide variety of audio interfaces out there, some cheap, some expensive. It also seems there is a wide variety of interpretations about what one needs to spend on an audio interface. Not taking into consideration protocol (let's assume USB works well enough for everybody), pre-amps (let's ...

Thanks. That means I'm not going to have any issues there.

Re: Equivalent to Roland A-49 but with independent MIDI DIN Out?

I'm in the same boat now that I'm moving house soon. I was hoping there would be abundant "super slim keys-only semi-weighted midi keyboards" but that's not the case. One thought if a realistic feel of the keys is not high on your priority list is the CME xkey 37 (although not 49 keys). I'...

Awesome, thanks. "Disable the send" didn't click with me initially- this is helpful.

Re: Any Improvements In The Audio Engine Of Ableton Live 10?

What do you mean fixed? In Live 9 Ableton calculates delays from left to right, getting to the sends last, and if you then route the audio from the sends back into the project they will forever be late, causing a delay. I stopped using sends in Live for this very reason. By fixed I mean: does this ...

Re: Any Improvements In The Audio Engine Of Ableton Live 10?

The old problem with delayed processing of effects, or something like that, which has been fixed now. Do you mean this? Ableton calculates delays from left to right. Getting to the sends last. If you then route the audio from the sends back into the project they will forever be late. And that's whe...

Re: Any Improvements In The Audio Engine Of Ableton Live 10?

I haven't read the whole thread but felt the need to reply. This is such a huge myth. Any claims about an inferior audio engine should be accompanied by audio examples from Live and other DAWs so that we can all do a blind test. That never seems to happen. I'm not defending Ableton for the sake of i...

Wow. That exceeds what I was hoping for. Thanks! I might have acces to one from someone I work with, so I'll probably give that keyboard a go first. Thanks for the heads up!

Re: New Macbook Pro

I'm upgrading and was considering a 2015 model until I realised price differences between the 2015 and latest model are not that significant (I'm willing to fork out about an extra €300,– for a future-proof device with much more powerful ports). Among my devices are a Push 2 and an Elektron Analog H...

Andy and Angstrom, thanks a lot for adding further details and continuing the discussion. I've learned a great deal and am happy to have some specific pointers for sample rate settings to work with :!:

Re: why dopplereffekt when parallelreturn and to drumbus

I'm not sure what your setup looks like exactly, but are you familiar with grouping audio effect racks? This video explains how to create dry/wet channels inside a track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYQiMtx9tXk
That's how I do my parallel processing.
