AMD Mainboard recommendations?

I am in the need to replace my working PC. I wanted to configure a PC around a Intel 1155 board, but after reading about serious storage problems, came to the conclusion that I could also use an AMD board. However I have the prejudice that Intel boards are better for Musicproduction than AMD´s. Ther...

The latter being rock and roll, the former being poetry evening stance.

Re: Goodbye FCB1010. Hello KMI SoftStep.

Got my Soft Step 2 months ago. At 1st had some problems, but the KMI staff is really quick and helpful. Now it is running fairly stable and I am trying to incorporate it into my LIve Guitar Looping setup. IMO it is a great step forward, compared to all the other Midi Foot Controller. (Did not like m...

Re: Question for M4L users

M4L was kind of a stretch for me. I couldn´t use it right away in my production flow. At first it frustrated me, but overwhelmed by it´s possibilities I began to learn MAX/MSP. I am not shure what this offers for me in the end, it is kind of learning a foreign language. You know it will suit your ne...

Re: 'Live' Live: Musicians Performing w/ Live esp. One Man Band

I have to predetermine if I want to start with 4 Bars or 8 Bars etc. Also, while layering different meters or polyrhythms on tracks 3 & 4 I have to be very careful to start recording in the right moment. (my global quantization is set to one bar, turning it off feels great, but loops are running ou...

Re: 'Live' Live: Musicians Performing w/ Live esp. One Man Band

Nice thread. I am a guitar player. In the past I used Live for jamming and recording. But for about a year I wanted to use Live at my gigs. My Setup is twofold: I´ll split the guitar signal: one going into live and the other going through a conventional chain of FX and Tube amp. #1 It consists of Li...

Re: Does Live take advantage of 8 cores?

Reading Khazul´s post, I get the impression that the Ableton staff should give us users some more advice about what hardware to use. IMO there are to many needs and to much different playing situations, that the question which PC/Mac and Desktop/Laptop to use, becomes real obstacle. like: #1 DJ live...
