I took advantage of their 50% deal and upgraded to the full version a couple weeks ago. Now I'm slowly making my way through a 4-hour course from Groove3.com so I can make the most of this beast. I can already see the endless possibilities.

The C1 is a great mic for vocals and definitely worth the extra $50. A lot of people compare it to mics that cost 5x more.

Re: Pro Tools Mini Grand in Ableton?

And, the good news is, there are lots of great sampled pianos you can play in Ableton. If you're looking for some something that won't break the bank, check out the "Piano Live Pack" & "Day Time Traffic Piano" from Detunized here: http://detunized.com/live_back_packs/index.php You might have to scro...

Re: Push or Touchable 2

I got an iPad a couple weeks ago specifically for music and recording, and the ways it's going to enhance my setup have majorly surpassed my initial expectations for it. But control surfaces haven't been big in my workflow (I sold my barely used apc20 a long time ago), so I didn't buy it specificall...

Re: The library mess

I don't know.. I think it's far sillier to complain about someone directing you to a place where you found a great deal. If Live 8 upgrades are no longer available directly through the Ableton shop, it sounds like support was just trying to be helpful instead of simply saying, sorry can't help ya! A...

Re: How you killed the business of music

I agree that you probably shouldn't quit the day job, but there are always exceptions to that rule. Sometimes it seems the only way for me to really get something accomplished creatively is when I block out time to completely commit and focus on nothing else. Sometimes that's what's required.. but s...

I wouldn't build it in the shed if it's not going to block out all the traffic noise.

Re: Why do YOU choose Ableton?!

I choose Ableton for its diversity. I like that it's both complex and user-friendly. That it's recording software and performance software. That it's an instrument. I like that I've been using it for two years and have still barely tapped into all that it's capable of. I'm happy with 8 for the time ...
