Re: MIDI Clip Overwrite

Ah well, thanks for the reply...perhaps this will be an unannounced feature of 9.

Yeah you're right enough, Overdub is required to record into a clip - which doesn't seem logical to me.

MIDI Clip Overwrite

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can answer this quickly... I'm used to using a Korg EMX, where patterns are setup to a certain length and each pass is overwritten with new notes when recording. Any existing notes are deleted. This is useful, as I can keep trying takes until I get it in time with the othe...

Re: Upgrade to 9 - Use M4L today?

Managed to confirm that a M4L serial isn't included in the Suite 8 license - will need to wait until 9 is released.

Upgrade to 9 - Use M4L today?

Hi All,
I'm looking to upgrade from Live 7 Standard to 9 Suite shortly, does anyone know if I can use M4L with 8 until 9 is released?

Has anyone upgraded from 7/8 to 9 Suite in the offer and obtained a M4L serial?

Cheers

Re: CPU overload problems - need mono piano VST, or other advice

It's probably because the system has an Atom processor, which is pretty low powered in comparison to normal mobile chips - even a C2D. I would suggest using piano samples instead of a VST. Unfortunately, it's not possible to use Ableton's partner instruments with Lite (even the free ones) so you'll ...

Re: ques. about running fl studio rewire into ableton on a mac

Honestly no idea if this would work through Crossover, you might need to install Windows via Bootcamp to make this work. I believe that Darwine (OSX version of Wine) has MIDI support...but you're adding an extra layer of latency. Perhaps this Ableton tutorial will help? http://www.ableton.com/pages/...

Re: Need help with Progressive/electro piano sound

I think it could do with some variation in the sound - perhaps change the velocity of the notes to put emphasis on certain notes or perhaps use autofilter with an LFO on it to make it more "rhythmic". Maybe stick a delay on it and use clip automation to make the reverse notes repeat a little...or bu...

Re: ramdisk with windows xp?

I think the native XP driver (ramdisk.sys) is limited to 32Mb unfortunately.

Dataram Ramdisk is free for personal use up to 4Gb

Re: dropouts in recording

Ah..there you go then, the USB 2 bus is much slower than your internal SATA bus and external USB drives generally use slower spinning HDDs. Try switching to your internal disk, or a Firewire 800 external disk. Also, make sure Time Machine isn't trying to scan/backup to your external disk as this wil...

Why not try the fully functional Live 8/Suite demo...? There are many helpful people in this forum, if you posted constructive criticism there would be many people, myself included, happy to help you.

Re: dropouts in recording

Hi Vardi,
Is the CPU or disk overload LED flashing whilst you're recording...look at the LEDs between "Key" and "MIDI".

What sample rate are you recording at...44k?

Cheers
