Re: Ableton Live 9 new features: what we want to see
I see some great ideas. I hope they don't limit it to iOS. I'm so sick of the extra expense to go that route. Resizable windows, custom plug in folder and a real mixer page would all be nice. Did I forget to mention iPad sucks.

Re: EQ Tutorial
I find that a lot of time I use the eq to "carve" the main elements of the sound.. out of the bulk..

Does the same to my interface. At times I have to restart the software.

Re: Plug Ins and effects for live vocals
Forgot to mention that I use Waves and Antares plug ins. I use a doubler or choir plug for vocals to give it a clear full sound. In the master channel I add a very small amount of reverb, I have a saturation plug and a compressor limiter.

Re: Plug Ins and effects for live vocals
I find that to much mic gain will cause feedback and distortion. I use a compressor and an eq in the vocal channel. If the plug in does something to the sound it goes in the channel. If the plug in adds something it goes in an aux channel. What else are you putting through your pa with Ableton?

Re: VIDEO: How to run backing tracks for your band with Ableton
"Do more"? like what... it's all in how you use it. No scenes, bigger faders with a number associated with the position of the fader. There are a lot of things. It's easy to through a bunch of sounds out there and call it music. Add a couple vocalists and some instruments together and see how easy ...

Re: VIDEO: How to run backing tracks for your band with Ableton
Nice, I like seeing how other people use Ableton. We don't do the loop stuff either. I wish Ableton would do more for the live musician or live band.

Re: change to Win7 64bit now Ableton doesnt open?
I had problems with Windows Home Premium. I switched to Windows 7 Pro and no more problems. Pro will work with 32 and 64 bit programs.

Re: Ableton Mixer
If you ever used protools you would want the larger mixer view. If it worked better in a live situation that's all I would use. Ableton is easier to control latency with multiple mics and instruments. I use protools for recording. The clips and sessions are wasted space for me.

Re: FOH using an HP TouchPad and Bluetooth
I tried it with my phone but only having one track at a time was a pain. When making changes on the fly it could mean the difference between a good song and a flop. An IPad would be nice but the price wasn't in my budget. I'm pretty happy, it got me another sound gig.

FOH using an HP TouchPad and Bluetooth
I've been looking for a less expensive way to do adjustments in sound without having my mix station in the middle of the audience. Some places my son performs at aren't that big. Not to mention how much of a pain it is to use a mouse for everything. I bought a discontinued, used HP TouchPad on Ebay ...

Re: Problem updating Live 8 to latest version
It did the same for me. It then asked for authorization. At that point it will open the newest version.

Re: Waves vst - scan - crash
I have the new OS disc but can't take the lap top down to install. Too many shows coming up to take the chance. iLok support may have found the problem. Windows 7 Home IE 8 only operates in 64 bit. Windows 7 Pro IE 8 can operate in 32 bit or 64 bit. I replaced an older Vista machine with one running...

Re: Waves vst - scan - crash
I have this narrowed down to an OS error. We've had a couple shows to do so I haven't been able to do a clean install on the operating system and reload everything. I'll post the results after I get this done.
