Re: Noise floor and proper gain staging question.....

If you have to turn up your pre-amp to get -18dB rms either you are singing too quietly, are too far from the mic or your microphone is not very sensitive, what are you using?

Encoder inaccuracy, chain selector

Hi All I am having a issue when using Push but as I was writing this post I found a workaround so I'll describe the problem, in case anyone has the same issue. Maybe it's a known bug. When using one of Push's encoders to adjust the Sample Select Ruler position (assigned to a macro) I can get it to s...

Yeah that rack from Quantize course is good. Also check the kick designer (M4L needed) from Point Black https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VK9VXaLcGLI

Re: Max Crashes Live!

I managed to fix the problem. I still have Max 6.0.8 installed so I switched Live to use that. I tried to load the LFO device, it said wrong max version, showing an empty device. I then went into preferences and changed back to Max 6.1.2, a pop-up appeared asking for my system password. After enteri...

Re: Max Crashes Live!

Im using OSX. I had this problem in version 9.0.2. Trashing Max's preferences fixed the problem. Version 9.0.3 didn't cause any problems, I have now installed 9.0.4 and the problem is back. Trashing Max's & Live's preferences makes no difference. Pluggo Devices seem to be OK, only certain devices ca...

Re: Recommend an external bus powered HD

Hi guys, thanks for all the responses. I have an older Macbook pro and I still use my optical drive quite a bit so thats not an option for now. Thanks for the tip about the USB bus hogging CPU, didn't know that, although I use both USB2 5400, and FW800 drives in the studio and haven't had any proble...

Re: Recommend an external bus powered HD

Hi Doghouse, thanks for replying. Yeah I some WD drives myself, socket powered. I haven't had any issues with them, except I have trouble mounting you of them sometimes. I was looking at the WD MyPassport drives and they are good value. I have also read reports of these drives dying. Although someti...

Recommend an external bus powered HD

Hi all, I usually use a mains powered external hard disk when DJing and performing live. I want to get a new bus powered external HD. In researching this I have come across some users having playback issues with certain drives. Others talk of problems due to sub-bass interference from the PA affecti...

Is you are building your own filter have a look at the "scale" object. Its 5th argument can be used to scale values exponentially.

Re: skinnerbox output midi/pattern

you can either have a midi device or an audio device but not both Yes this is the problem I came up against. I did some hacking on the patch and there are a number of ways to get midi but by stopping the audio. I also routed the midi out using OSC but the timing was sloppy. re my original question,...

Pure Data workshop in Dublin?

Hi guys, a friend is coming to Dublin for the PD conference at Trinity. He was wondering if there was any other places that might be interested in a PD workshop?
