Re: Need Helps for Midi problem (Advanced) 2017

Do you have max4live?
Like the_subject, I don't exactly understand why you are only cut/pasting note for note.
Nonetheless, Isotonik's MultiClip Editor would at least allow you to put the source and destination on the same screen. So you can decide if that's worth the price...

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

That's true. It was probably in my imagination-grabbing the first open-back headphones available and expecting to hear my actual voice locked in with the playback. Really wasn't an issue at all when I had proper closed-back headphones. Frankly, the effects on the voice as reference are just as much ...

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

Yes, having 2 tracks recording with my outboard compressor-that's an option. Like in my picture on pg 2, I already have 2, but ones going straight. Thanks! Just a matter of reallocating my tracks, as my tracking template is perfectly bankable on the Push. As for not direct monitoring, I did find the...

Re: The proper term.

If you're doing dialogue as you put it, that would be a fairly generic term. But certainly functional.

Re: Sound system (DJ) session tips

Sure. In this case, I'm referring to multiple instrument chains within an instrument rack. These can be distributed by velocity and note filters, (much in the same way you'd distribute synth patches in midi), but you have a 3rd option to engage different instruments based on the chain select range. ...

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

Good to hear from you Fishmonkey. Sends Only output still requires that the recording track be monitored of Incoming audio. So I don't believe your approach would do better to avoid the latency of the recording on the monitored track. Yes, it does address the wet-only signal in a nice way, and certa...

Sounds like you are describing the supervising sound editor, dialog supervisor, or music editor

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

I have a particular vocal tracking scenario which is based on a few requirements: 1) Recording a raw track from vocalist through preamp. 2) Recording a compressed track using an outboard rack unit which is used for direct monitoring just to the artist, to reinforce the performance. (Sometimes the co...

Re: Sound system (DJ) session tips

The first question when talking about a performance template in this case is "do you want your computer to have its eyes roll into it's head and completely ignore you for a half a minute while you're in front of people in the booth/on stage?" So maybe converting and slicing are not tricks that you w...

Re: Ableton - One Thing

Might be fun to anchor some tips by translating and interpreting those One Things into ableton concepts. I'll begin: John Kameel Farah -Building Scales https://youtu.be/vy2isW7G70s Create a midi clip, and optionally set the start marker to a negative measure value. Use this negative measure space li...

Re: Problems Opening Projects with Izotope Neutron in them

I have multiple instances of full-function Neutron in my mix down template, and open it without a hitch. (Doesn't mean I use it every time, just means thats how I have my default channel strip when I want a launching off point for compressors/eq/exciter...) Did you move the Isotope presets folder? T...

Browser opens unwittingly when I click on something else?

Afraid I need to bring this up-had a difficult time hunting the boards before posting this new one. At least for the last couple years, if I click on a track header, say, or even a clip in session view, the Browser view will occasionally swing open. Maybe once or twice a day while I'm working on a s...

Same here. Particularly when using the Chord Explorer. The previous chord carries over. Sorry, that's not a solution, just a QA request.

Re: Transient Machines - I recommend this one

I find it very lean. Crack is designed more as a utility. And it helps to think of the input/output stage as the first things to listen for should you decide your sound would be better served with Impact. You might not even need the output mixing stage, then only shaping needs to be engaged. They bo...
