What ever I get would need to satisfy tweaking instruments, helping me do a mix down etc in the studio environment, but then also be suitable to do a similar job "on stage" as it were. I want to use it to perform my music by live sequencing/tweaking rather than a "DJ" set. I'm no...

New drum and bass track from me!!

I did this as a sorta experiment into a different sound of drum and bass to what I "normally" do. Its sorta a bit dubby, bit glitchy, bit dance floor. One of my ideas was to sort of put sounds in that were out of place but then became clear why they were there by the time you get to the en...

Evolution UC-33e or similar

So I already have a padKONTROL and loving it but I need something to compliment it in the sliders and pots department. I noticed the Evolution UC-33e in the Ableton shop and thought it was fairly well priced and looks like it would do the job. Was just wondering what peoples experience of using it a...

yes, that make sense! :D but does that same mean, when you go from wave (original) to mp3, and from mp3 back to wave, you'll never reach the primary original quality of the wave-file? When you make the mp3 you effectively through away a bunch of information. When you make a wave from that mp3 it ca...

dumb question: does converting an 128mp3-file in a wave-file (44') achieve a better quality? general conditions: you don't own the original source-file. No cause there is still only 128kbs of information to make the wave file from. Its like asking if you record a VHS tape on to a DVD will it...

I did it once trying to start a set with a 128 mp3, then going into vinyl.

I will never do it again.

2. build your tracks vertically. i don't see why you would have to flatten your midi tracks.... If I had an operator for example in track 1 driving my bass line, but this was the only track that used this instrument then track 1 will mostly be empty down the set. If that was the case for many of th...

Re: MIDI Remote: Select clip?

So how can I select a clip via MIDI - so that it displays in the clip display (and would be fired by hitting return)? Also is there any way I can do the equivalent of hitting return via MIDI, or do I really need a play button for every track? I would be very interested in an answer to this too.... :?
