Re: fuller sounding synths

One thing I recently discovered was the magic of Waves channel strips. I really hate how the Analog device sounds, but combined with a TG12345 plugin it sounds much fuller. Only drawback is the CPU.

Re: What do you think of Point Blank Music School ?

I think with any music school it can help speed up the learning process, get new ideas, and make contacts. But also, they are rather expensive and there is so much wealth of information online as it is. Not to mention some of the monthly membership tutorial sites like ADSR, Lynda, and MacProVideo, a...

Re: 432hz default setting change

I don't disagree with that because there is more to it than being at 432, such as the actual scale being used. But if one simply feels more inspired, that is all that matters even if they can't explain it. What I would like to see in Ableton are the options that Logic has for tuning and scales.

Re: 432hz default setting change

Dear Jesus, Please let this nonsense die. Thanks, ST. I don't find it as much nonsense as it is letting artists experiment with tones and frequencies. 440 is really only a standard in modern western music. Personally, I like my music to be a little more out of tha standard. I also want to start inc...

Re: 96Khz. Why?

Thanks guys.
So what I'm gathering is that it's a bit pretentious for the most part, possibly useful if producing music with a lot of nuances and dynamics, and can also be replicated by using psychoacoustic plugins.
Is that it in a nutshell?

Re: 432hz default setting change

Ableton doesn't do this yet. I wish they would. But for everything to be in tune at 432, detune the synths by -32 in the fine tune.

96Khz. Why?

Is there really any point to working at 96Khz? I try it, and I think it sounds better, but it just might be more like a placebo effect. It obviously eats up the processor more, and eventually it's heard at a much lower sample rate. So why then do engineers use it? Or 192Khz for that matter? Are ther...

Re: Live as a drummer in a band

Lots of good ideas here. I'll tell you what I've been doing... I'm using Native Instruments Abbey Road Drums, ToonTrack EZPlayer Pro, and ToonTrack MIDI packs. Basically, I load MIDI clips into EZPlayer Pro and route the MIDI into Abbey Road Drums. You can always bounce your final drum track if the ...

Re: MacBook Pro

Good to know that the quad will be a huge difference... I recently fell in love with Waves plugins, especially the Abbey Road channel strips and ideally would like to put one one every track, in addition to NI Abbey Road drums which takes up loads of CPU, and Serum which is another plugin that I rec...

MacBook Pro

Buy now or wait for new model? I'm currently using a 2010 model with a duo core processor, but everything today seems to choke it. I'm looking towards a quad core processor, will the difference be night and day? Is the rumored Skylake processor worth the wait? If I get a 2015 model will it feel outd...

Re: Ipad Pro. 32Gb or 128GB ?

Take into account that the iOS is going to eat up a few gigs on its own. So with a 32 gig model you will have around 27 gigs storage.

Thanks to Christian's good support, it seems the issues are resolved. M4L is still the most frustrating piece of software I own, but the fact we straightened out everything with Oscillot I can now start to enjoy this purchase.

But then nothing patches in it... Oscillot is not usable... I hope Ableton is willing to refund me.
