The integration of AU presets on the Mac are quite nice in Live. accessed from the browser just like any other built in presets and effects... That is why I don't use the VST effects if I can help it. With AU effects/instruments, it creates a unified file system.

I bought the CS4 and Live 6 at the same time and made the decision to port over to Live. I now n...

remove the offending plug-in from your VST/AU folder and open the song file again. It should just give you a mesage saying that it can't find that plug in.

awesome post. i'm sending this to a "friend" of mine. he detest live and swears by cubase. thanks for the ammunition  I used Cubase for 6 or more years. Its a great app. It can do something things Live can't do. But Live is just way easier to use. For my purposes that is much more valualbe.

Confessions of an ex Cubase User

After discovering Live- I loved the idea and have bought it since v 1.5- but it just didn't have all the features I needed- though I wanted a reason to use it. Last year I upgraded both DAWs; Live maturing to version 6 and Cubase to Studio 4. Cubase's co...

If you know how to use it, you can do a lot of this stuff with beatRepeat, especially when you throw a few of them in a rack

if you don't want to warp, you could, similar to what Ruso was suggesting, find the bpm of the track and cut up the track into 4 or 8 bar phrases, stacking them in the Session view- making subtle corrections with where the clip starts based on tempo changes.
