Re: Live 9.1 Not working properly.

When you say step sequencer, are you referring to the piano roll/midi editor in Live, or an external step sequencer, such as Push, or similar device? The issues you describe seem pretty odd -- I don't think it's an issue with 9.1 in particular, as this seemingly should have cropped up by now. If you...

Yes, make sure that every key only has one sample in range.

Midi Overdub / Session Record turns off a lot

Hey guys, I was teaching a lesson this week, and we were going over the difference between having Session Record armed or not (in using it like the old Overdub button). I was flummoxed that I couldn't figure out how to keep that bugger on between pressing space bar. I feel like I used to be able to ...

Cool, thanks for posting this. I started getting into M4L a few weekends ago, and small, easy examples like this are easy to understand and build on.

Re: How would you make these sounds? (Track inside)

Hahah no problem of course. I would have direct messaged him if it were private -- the more people it might help, the cooler I feel lol... It's nothing too awesome, I just whipped some stuff together quickly while at work. It's not 100% accurate, but it's what I think of when I listen to those sound...

Re: How would you make these sounds? (Track inside)

The "bass" sounds to me like compressed and distorted kicks, with sidechained reverb. The horn sound is likely a synth using a saw wave with a bandpass filter and reverb. I've saved a live set for you with a channel I made that sounds pretty close to that synth. The keys were: Sawtooth wave (stacked...

So who is going to bite the bullet and tell us if it works? Tarekith, of course! Lol :) I plan on updating in the next few days. I'll let you know how it goes. Re: Best way to connect to iPad (w/o adhoc)

I use this to route midi between my ipad and computer, and it's extremely more reliable than using the wifi/adhoc. As others have said there are some audio interfaces that include midi as well. There is one box that I am really excited for: http://www.iconnectivity.com/iConnectMIDI4plus It uses audi...

Re: M4L to auto map controller questions from a supernoob!

Thanks a lot for the feedback, it's extremely helpful even if it's not what I hope to hear lol :) On the controller part the real hassle comes in to play. Because if you just read out the CC messages (which of course is possible and pretty simple), the controls will keep their automapping behaviour....

Re: Live Lite 7 upgrade?

Yeah, that's a good tip! Here's another: Korg NanoPad/Kontrol/Etc2 are less than $50 on Amazon, and come with a $50 certificate for Ableton. Another instance of a "free controller" if you are planning on getting into Live. http://www.amazon.com/Korg-nanoKONTROL2-Slim-Line-Control-Surface/dp/B004M8UZS8

Re: M4L to auto map controller questions from a supernoob!

There is, the top row of 8 knobs gets automapped, and then you can change the bank of parameters you are focused on. But I really hate this. Especially on the BCR, where you have 32 knobs, 16+ buttons, etc. I want to be able to have hands on knobs for ADSR, filter, osc ABCD etc all at once... More l...

You should definitely contact support if you haven't already. They seem like pretty reasonable people when I've had issues in the past with somewhat similar situations.

M4L to auto map controller questions from a supernoob!

Hey guys, I spent this past weekend getting into M4L. My end goal is to build patches that will automap certain parameters of certain synths to my controller -- similar to how Blue Hands work (but being able to control more than 8 flippin parameters at a time). Ultimately, I just acquired an old BCR...

Re: Operator for Live 8

On the top of the page, there are some filtering options. On the far right side, you can select the version of Live you are looking at packs for. Make sure it says L8. Since I have L9 Suite, I can't verify this will fix your issue for sure, but it might be what you need to do.
