Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!

I don't mean to be one of "those guys" but, jeez, this sure makes the Push look more and more pushed out the door. Having a sustain pedal work properly with a Push is fairly integral to it's status as an instrument. Lucky for me it hasn't been a priority yet and this issue should be pretty well add...

Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!

Did you/have you tried the option above to reverse polarity first before you went the hardware hack option? First thing I tried. Live seems to, at least in this case, purely respond to the controller value, i.e. 127 is always 'sustain on'. Damn. I wonder if Dennis could comment on this? This is why...

Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!

Thaks Dennis, but that is still a bit sparse don't you think? ... for example which port is which (in the absence of any diagram with labels etc), what kind of pedals accepted, polarity? The ports are labeled with numbers on Push itself. As for what types of pedals, any momentary footswitch should ...

Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!

There has also been no mention of the expression ports at the back of the unit, at least in the latest manual I looked at (not sure if this has been fixed in the manual you've just linked to)... It would be nice to have information on what kind of foot pedals are compatable, polarity, what they act...

Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!

Additionally, if it would be possible for your team to come up with a nice one-page reference cheat sheet for which buttons have Shift or Select access (i.e. holding Shift to record-arm multiple tracks, etc.), or will change based on holding them (i.e. User controls for changing Velocity/Sensitivit...

Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!

It kinda hard cause I don't know what I don't know That's a fair point. will there be a updated printed manual if I buy a box? There will likely not be an update to the printed manual in the near future. I believe we did only one additional run of printed manuals during the Live 8 cycle, and this w...

Re: The Push section of the Live Manual is rubbish!

Hi folks, We're continuing to revise the manual as we add or change functionality. Currently, the version that comes with the latest beta (and which is available for download) is somewhat more up-to-date than the version that comes with the latest official release version of Live. http://cdn2-downlo...

Re: Ableton 9 Manual's Section on Push

But as for now and I just compared before posting three [FRENCH] user manuals : one opened from Suite 9.0.2 64-bit ; one from Beta 9.0.3b3 the latest beta release at the time ; and the one coming from Ableton website, in "Learn Push" sections from Help main sub-site : the three PDF the same size an...

There's a sticky forum post for it at the top of the Music and Audio Production forum. It should always have links to the latest beta:

Re: Ableton 9 Manual's Section on Push

Hi folks, Thanks for the feedback on the manual. The goal is to make it comprehensive - it's definitely not meant to be a rehash of the videos. It starts with a walkthrough of the workflow, but then ends with a complete button reference. That being said, it's definitely getting updated regularly, as...

Re: Push & Chord Voicings

So as the excitement builds for the release of Ableton Push and I've watched all of the videos over and over soooo my question is......How easy or effective is Push going to be for playing chords??? 64 notes worth of notes are packed into the layout of Push but it seems to me like playing something...

Re: Push & Chord Voicings

What I'd like to know is whether you can transpose the notes (not transpose in a music sense). The videos show that Push is played with the notes scalling vertically but, to me at least, I think it would seem more natural to play Push horizontally, if that makes sense! We haven't talked about it in...

Re: clip automation in session

Hi folks, glitchrock-buddha is right, although we're using the term "clip envelopes" to refer to ANY envelopes that are part of clips (as opposed to the Arrangement timeline.) This now includes both modulation envelopes (which are relative, and were available in earlier versions) and automation enve...
