Huh? This doesn't make any sense, dude.

@Kunkyfunt: I'd call it DJing your own tunes. "Remixing [someone else's] pre-made loops" is what DJs do.

Re: Compared to Reaper Live feels SO bloated!

Would Live feel less bloated for some people if they kept their Instruments and samples folders closed? :x Get regular Live instead of the Suite and don't download any sample packs. Problem solved. Aside from stability issues, which (knock on wood), I've only had a few, Live 8 performs it's basic fu...

Re: We really need to buy third party plugins for compression ?

I would save your money for something your might really need. I own Fabfilter Pro-C, and it definitely is worth it for the interface and versatile controls and transparent character (VERY nice way to learn how a compressor is affecting the audio). But Live's compressor is really good, too. Though th...

Re: LEDs for Note Mode on the APC 20?

Thanks man, I kind of figured that. Too bad Akai did a half-assed imitation of the Launchpad's note mode  I skipped the Launchpad because of the cheap plastic build, but at least this feature on it gives bi-directional feedback (kind of important).

Thanks Tone, but that didn't work either. :? Does this require M4L or something?

Re: LEDs for Note Mode on the APC 20?

Hmmm. That does nothing useful; thank you for trying though. When I send midi from a track that mirrors what my drum rack is playing, it just lights the "play" and then the "track activator" buttons on whichever midi channel I have selected (leftmost track on the APC being channel 1 and so on to the...

Thanks :) It's definitely a more acoustic piece than a lot of my other stuff. Showcasing the def (frame drum) especially.

LEDs for Note Mode on the APC 20?

Quick question: I like being able to trigger sounds with note mode, but is there no way to have the buttons light according to button presses and also what's currently playing, like the Launchpad? edit: I can trigger sound in a drum rack, for instance, but nothing lights up in note mode either when ...

There's this:

http://www.h-pi.com/TBX1intro.html

I've never tried it, so I can't comment. I believe that LMSO X can retune some hardware synths.

Re: world music scales + alternate tuning scales + microtonal??

Is this possible in live, to send midi data that comes from "non western" tuning scales?? also microtonal?? any max for live scripts that aid in this matter?? Are you on a Mac or PC? For Mac, there's LMSO X (www.nonoctave.com), for PC there's Scala (http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/). Both creat...

Re: how to deal with the most stupid file search on the planet?

Good tip, tone. Thank you. I've also been very frustrated with Live's file management implementation. "Collect All and Save" is the mantra.
