that section is for if you have a special controller, for example a mackie control universal, or one which can emulate it, like the behringer bcf2000. it's more of a two-way interface, with information going out to the controller, instead of just midi coming from your keyboard into live.

sometimes people have trouble assigning keys to do things, because they have the 'use computer keyboard as musical keyboard" feature activated (there's a little keys icon towards the upper right of the live screen) doesn't sound exactly like your problem, but in case i was not understanding you...

that's curious. on my system, it zooms around the cursor position. it does sometimes shift the cursor slightly to the left or right, but i didn't see any rhyme or reason as to why.

i'm not sure why you can't change the tempo, that seems strange. it won't always autowarp things correctly, but then just do it manually you can get it to loop with follow actions, but i find the don't work quite right unless the warp button is on. so you could try warp mode with no markers, loop of...

really, really awesome. thanks so much!!!!

the only thing that would be better is if the zoom would always center on the mouse position. i bet this has more do do with the way ableton works than with the script though

yes, i was also disappointed in how a pen felt. granted i didn't give it enough time to really get used to using it. i still like having the wacom for photoshop though. and it is nice for drawing envelope curves. i haven't tried it for fader movements but i guess that's working horrible... i would b...

those settings you're looking at are for the master tempo envelope, and not for the range of your controller knob. along the bottom of the live screen is a line which shows information about selections, i.e. file locations when a clip is highlighted, etc. enter midi map mode click on the tempo contr...

i suppose it might help a little.

i'm pretty sure live has it's own fonts. i know there are fonts within the ableton folders. actually i was trying to get them converted to another format so i could use them in windows but i think the conv. would make it look too crappy

also, make sure you're running the bcfview program, it helps a lot when you go into the sub-menus for effects parameters, sends, etc. in fact i don't see how you could possibly do without it! there is another program, i can't remember the name though. i wish i could use it because apparently you can...

i feel your pain. this far i've just been learning where all the functions are in the existing setup, even though it's a bit wacky. i do believe it would be possible to build a custom patch for the bcf which would make a bit more sense. might need modifying the firmware or something (?). at this poi...
