mine doesn't do this - it just fades the arrangement clips a bit so you have another visual cue that they're not playing

i once installed it and didn't really get it going. it seemed like you'd just have to feed it steady hits on each beat, ie. no complex rhythms - just four on the floor. if it heard anything that wasn't stricly on the 1,2,3,4 it would react by changing the tempo to what it percieved- maybe i just did...

i did that once on a record and have really regretted it ever since. "wow i can hit the mono switch on my stereo and the sound disappears, cool" eventually giving way to "dang, this sounds pretty crappy on a lot of stereos"

oh well. then the best i can suggest from there is that if you're not sticking to a strict time, maybe a foot controller? then with quantize off, you'd be starting immediately, but you could keep your hands free i can sort-of inagine some kind of complex workaround but what i'm thinking would involv...

well, i think what you need to do is set the global quantization to whatever best suits the length of your loops (and how much lead time you need to be comfortable.) say you set it to 1 bar. then when you hit a clip record button, it will not actually start until the next "1" beat. set it for 4 bars...

yes. make two (or more) points on the track's volume envelope in the arrangement view, by double clicking on the red line. it will draw a straight line from one to the other when you drag one of the points up/down

it sounds like you might be talking about paging file size settings? with that much ram, you could even try not having a paging file at all. if you do, you should ideally have it on a different drive from your windows installation. maybe set it for min 2G max 2G. assuming you have DDR ram, you need ...

there are vst rex players right? i usually just sequence reason instruments in the reason sequencer. a couple days ago i started messing with sending the midi into reason via live and using midi clips in live. that led me to all the problems with track delays and syncs. so i'm back to just sequencin...

you don't really need a huge disk necessarily. you only need enough room for the wavs which you are using at the time. live will clear out unused ones in the cache automatically to make room for new ones.

if you're choking your HD, try reducing the cache size to whatever room you have.

you really need two sets of stereo outs to be able to cue (listen without it going to your main output/speakers) so i guess i wouldn't get too worked up about it if you're just using your stock soundcard with only one stereo out. there are actually lots of threads about setting up pre-listening. som...
