exactly. and now matrixsynth. I personally think the iphone is cool, but the apps are pretty nerdy. I don't think its the huge breaktrough technology that everyone thinks it is. and everyone knows the iphone is just a crappy os disguised in a pretty case.djgroovy wrote:CDM has been awash with it of late.

I'm so sick of silly iPhone music apps
iPhone music apps are haunting all my RSS feeds from sites that used to have quality software and hardware reviews. OK, the touchscreen technology is cool I guess, but c'mon! I mean, am I really gonna get groupies by playing an iPhone on stage? iPhone is to the computer what Whitesnake was to Led Ze...

50 "known" best recordings
Hi,
I'm reading Bob Katz's book on mastering and he alludes to the "50 known best recordings" for referencing your room/mixes etc...
I'm wondering if anyone knows where this list exists, or what the heck he's talking about.

Mate. If you're not really having an idea of what you wanna accomplish, it could be hard to find the commitment to learn Max. That's the thing.. I've kind of got a creative bloc right now and I'm looking for new ideas and methods of making music. I'm hoping that learning the concepts in MAX might o...

Why Should I Use MAX/MSP?
I've been messing around with Max lately and it seems pretty interesting. Al ot of my friends here in SF use it but I have yet to see someone completely blow my mind with it. I'm just wondering if I should really push past that learning curve - if it will be worth the time and effort in the end. I k...

MPC 2500 or 1000 with JJ? Help me decide.
I want to use it both for live performance and studio work. Does the 2500 have a better workflow and editing capabilities? I noticed there are more dedicated knobs and buttons on the 2500 but the LCD and OS are essentially the same. Is the 2500 too heavy and big to bring around? Overall are the adva...

Is it a big rompler with a 'sound engine' which only uses the rompler samples... or does it actually do synthesis. I can't wade through all the marketing speak to find out. I'm worried its just going to be a preset combiner like RMX vs manipulation-limited romplers like Atmosphere and Trilogy. Seem...

which version of rockband?
I went to go buy rockband yesterday and was utterly overwhelmed by the choices available for it. Anyone have any suggestions which might be the best option? Which version and which controller?
