Re: What annoys you about Push 2?

It annoys me that Push 2 doesn't greet me in the studio each day with a personalized message. When I turn it on, something like "good morning Erik" should scroll across the screen. I can't believe this wasn't included in the first release, thank you Jesse for promising to fix this ;) You jest, but ...

Hmmm. Maybe it's time to put my SQ80 on the market. I should drag it out and see if it still works.

Re: Push2 power fault

You DO have the power adapter (the "wall wart") plugged into a live outlet, don't you? Unlike Push 1, Push 2 won't work properly without the external power supply. If you ARE using the external power supply and are seeing this, then it sounds to me like there's a hardware problem, either with the po...

Re: Houston..."we have a problem"...Or may be it's just me!

IIRC, Ableton made a change to how Live does warping of samples in 9.2 (I think). The first time a newer version of Live has to load a sample that had been used with an older version, it has to reanalyze it and write the new information to disk, which takes some time. That could be what you're runni...

Just FYI, here's a link to the official explanation for the different feel of the tempo encoder:

Re: Reasons for keeping Push 1, please add yours

Isn't this thread meant to be reasons for keeping the Push 1? I'm not seeing any reasons!! I think the only real reason for keeping Push 1 long term is that you've really bonded with it. That is, you've integrated it into your workflow, it does everything you want it to do, nothing about it really ...

Re: Still ridiculous 8 bar limit?

Is that only on the Push 2 or on the Push 1 as well? Couldn't say if it works for Push 1 as I no longer have my Push 1. I assume you can set the length of the clip the same way (press the Clip button and use the loop length encoder). I'm much less sure that you could access more than 16 bars since ...

Re: Anyone else find the Push 2 unplayable?

I'm wondering, do you all think this is a firmware issue that could be fixed? Or is it part of the hardware, and I need to send this thing back while I still can? I strongly suspect it's a firmware issue. Programming microcontrollers to read the state of buttons and encoders, update the LEDs and th...

Re: Still ridiculous 8 bar limit?

I do admit, it'd be nice for step sequencing if you could scroll. Well, you can. If you've set a clip (loop) length for something longer than 16 bars, you can use the page buttons to access the bars beyond 16. That said, it's pretty easy to lose track of where you are in the clip, so it's not ideal...

Re: Still ridiculous 8 bar limit?

I work with a lot of song material, and a lot of it is in 16 bars. The 8 bar limit on Push crippled my music-making, so I haven't really used it much. Has this limitation been removed now? Can Push handle 16 bars? You can set any clip length you want by pressing the Clip button and using the Loop L...

...it's so much nicer to get velocity based grooves on things like shakers by tapping them in, rather than going back and manually editing the velocity for each note by holding down a pad like you currently have to. Why not use the Repeat function? That gives you velocity variations based on pressu...
